Sound quality : 9.5/10
DAC design : looks good and tiny feels premium
DAC protection : no seperate protection,I think this one build with wooden shell and can survive little drops
Type c to c cable : sits on phone properly but with DAC little... bit shaky but not effecting the output anyway
DAC buttons : works properly with volume but not switching songs
LED light : works as stated in description
Fiio control app : works good with SNOWSKY melody
Battery consumption : As it delivers more power and it consumes battery bit fast
Heat issues : I don't find any heat issues after 1 hr usage
In my case I am using 7hz x crinacle zero2 iem with fiio music app and it sounds smooth, clear,bitperfect and gives fatigue free listening experience for long sessions
So finally it is best DAC in tiny wooden shell under budget.if anyone wanna try please go ahead
Last but not least authenticity checking via QR code on the box feels good

Been using the Snowsky Melody with the Final Audio E1000C and 7Hz Salnotes Zero. Both are easy to drive, so power was never a concern — my focus was on clean output, reliability, and usability.
Build & design:
One of the main reasons I chose the Melody was the design, and it looks great in person. It’s extremely lightweight and smaller than I expected, which initially made it feel a bit hollow, but once you get used to it, the build feels solid and well finished. Smooth, cool to the touch, and very pocketable. The detachable cable is a big plus for long-term use. Gets a little warm during playback but that's normal not a concern. 5/5 here.
App & features:
The FiiO Control app is… okay. It’s something you set up once and forget. Initial setup was a bit frustrating — the app didn’t always show saved settings and required reopening and reconnecting the dongle a few times. It’s been stable since, but the experience could definitely be better.
The hardware PEQ works fine for presets or AutoEQ, but for custom PEQ it drops volume aggressively (to prevent clipping). Since I use Poweramp with per-device EQ profiles, I prefer software EQ anyway, which is much more flexible and convenient. 3/5
Sound:
This is where the Melody does exactly what it’s supposed to. Clean, transparent, and uncoloured — basically a black canvas for your music. No audible hiss during playback, and DVC works much better compared to standard dongles I’ve used. I did notice slight EMI noise while texting initially, but enabling DRE completely fixed it. This isn’t something you can control on most basic dongles, so having the option here is a plus. Overall, very clean and controlled output for sensitive IEMs. 5/5
Overall:
This isn’t a perfect product, mainly because of the app, so it’s not a 5⭐ for me. But considering the price, at ₹3999 there’s really nothing else offering this combination of clean sound, detachable cable, app support, and balanced output. Everything comparable costs significantly more.
For my use case, it’s a great buy and easy to recommend if you want a reliable, neutral dongle with good long-term value.

At 10gms this dongle hardly adds any weight to our already heavy devices
I set the dongle volume setting at 45 steps out of 60
For balanced iems, I have to set my phone volume setting around 50% to hear at reasonable volumes. For single ended iems I have to go almost 75% to hear clearly. Btw these iems are around 32 ohms or less impedance and are easy to drive
Clarity is excellent with a neutral and a touch of warmth. Vocals are very good
For planars you can listen if you crank up both the volume settings higher but I would recommend say KA15 or JM21 that can easily put out the power needed for planars
This is a good dongle that will meet my listening needs around 90% of the devices I have
