Rightly named, there is very little that the LCD-3 cannot do when it comes to sound performance. Having an open-back circumaural design, certainly these headphones weren't made for the outdoors as the leak sound enough to disturb the next person. That said, the pluses outrun the minuses and they possibly are the best headphones, yet.
Audeze headphones’ best-in-class accuracy makes them an irreplaceable tool for those requiring the most transparent audio reproduction available. Besides being first discovered by audiophiles, now professional engineers and music producers are using these headphones as their new reference.
The LCD-3 headphone is thoroughly engineered and meticulously hand-built using the finest, most luxurious materials combined with cutting-edge planar magnetic technology. Audeze made sure that they closely match transducers and even the earpads by leather texture and colour. One can choose real lambskin leather or Microsuede earpads and headband. All earpads are filled with carefully chosen acoustical foam for best fit and sound. The LCD-3 will play on portable devices but sounds best driven by a quality amplifier like the Audeze Deckard for best results.

Hi everyone thanks headphone zone for delivering the product in time . Audeze lcd3 is a very good headphone in the price range it's bass and midrange are the strong points treble is rolled off a bit and soundstage is limited only to head and not expansile . Lcd3 is very heavy and needs good amplification to drive it to full potential. I have hifiman he1000 and focal utopia compared to them it's down in its overall presentation and clarity. Hifiman gives you a pleasureable listening into sound it's very good through out the spectrum just a tad lower in midrange but very negligible. Focal utopia is in next level beating both of them in clarity and speed for a dynamic driver they compete very well against planars.Recommend if you are new to headphone world if it suits your budget. If u can afford an hifiman he1000 then it's worth spending on hifiman because as it is superior to lcd3 in overall presentation and brings a smile on your face.
If you are in music production, then this headphones must have. Comparable quality of sound in form of aquatically treated room and speakers will cost around usd 30000 (with ATC monitors). To understand what kind of headphone it is you may need also high resolution amp and high quality recording, I would recommend Queens Of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf - 2002. Best quality recording for rock ever made
