Looking to upgrade your studio monitoring headphones within a budget then these are sure to impress you.
Get a pure sound made for all you rock and roll music listeners to keep your feet tapping everywhere you go.
These are sure to help you hear the music just like it was meant to sound when being recorded with absolute clarity.
Get your balanced sounding headphones made by audio gear giants with a trusted history.
Before this I was using Apple earpod for daily bus travel. After using this for 2 days, I cannot hear from apple. Means the clarity is never given by others.. specially u can judge the how much reverb and how many effects applied in normal MP3 format songs. And the wave file is just rocking. And most important thing U can hear it very well with every phone.. but clarity will be matter by different phones. Tip : for better mobile output, just get the Jet Audio app. U will get the way to heaven.
I also using it for mastering.. after listning my recording, I realize that I need to remaster all the projects. Becoz before this I have mixed them all with apple earpod but after getting this, I feel that I was on wrong way..
I really love it. And dont worry about its material. Its plastic but rock solid thing it is.. Tip : u can replace the cushion, but that headband is difficult to replace and may be costlier.. so just get the sleeve for headband or DIY it.
I bought this little monster in one of the drop deals, as I wanted to replace my ailing Sony MDX headphone which had been great up until now when paired with the Behringer UCA202 DAC.
The headphones sounded quite deep when listening with my same setup. However UCA202 is not a very low impedance output amp (50 ohms). So there is a bit of loss in oomph when compared to using the Sony headphones; since this is a 16 ohm driver.
But this is as neutral sounding headphone that you can get for this price range. Vocals shine very well, bass is not very overpowering and to my liking. The treble is well present, and no noticable sibilance at all.
But the folding mechanism can be a bit cumbersome to untangle at times, and the ear cups can get very sweaty too depending upon which part of country you reside in.
The 2 additional audio cables (3m and 1.5m coiled ones) are welcome additions. It makes the headphones driver cable connection unbreakable. The failure most likely will occur on the connecting cords and can be easily replaceable.
Sound stage is not very wide and probably not very comparable to an open back headphone like Grado SR60E which remains my personal favorite for their unique sound signature too. Yet, this headphone has marvelous details for a closed back headphone. You could feel some fatigue if you wear it for long, especially if you have long ears.
Sound - 9/10
Mechanical Design - 8/10
Sound stage - 8/10
Sound Signature - As neutral as you can get at this price range
I will definitely recommend this headphone if you want one for mixing and monitoring, and it pairs well well with my Audio Technica AT2020 condenser microphone too.
A great product and a fantastic service from Headphone zone.
This headphone deserves its place in both sound effects monitoring and casual music listening and this headphone deliver crisp bass which does not overpower other frequency, you have to use a proper interface or proper audio sample to get the quality. Recommended for people who seek entry level studio monitor, who enjoys flat frequency music and not for bass heads.
Before upgrading to a studio monitoring style headphones, I was used to bass heavy headphones and trust me, these headphones won't disappoint you at all if you have already changed your mindset to listening to much more balanced sounding headphones. Lows, mids and highs are nicely balanced . There is enough amount of low end for a bass lover. Though, the mids are a bit muddy in the 400-1 kHz range. Genres like rock might not sound great as you won't enjoy the snares and guitars. But, for those listening to electronic music, these are perfect for the price point. I do some casual DJing too and these can be a little bulky and uncomfortable (not a problem for me). For longer usage, oh man, these things do get sweaty. There is absolutely no sound leakage even at the maximum volume and they do cancel external noise but to some extent. All in all, they can fulfil my purpose of producing electronic music and DJing. And yeah the 15Hz sinewave on these sounds unbelievably crazy.
First of all these are not the typical bassy headphones so baseheads please turn around. If you want to listen to every instrument or backing vocals and really want to feel the music go for it , you won't regret it.
