Most portable Bluetooth DAC/Amps incorporate an all-in-one ‘system on a chipsolution to deliver input signal processing, digital-to-analogue signal conversion and amplification. Theseare simple and cost-effective, but they cannot compare with expertly designed, individually optimisedcircuit stages when it comes to sound quality. EMBEDDED WITH QUALCOMM BLUETOOTH CHIP AND DIRECT DRIVE AMP CIRCUIT

The Bluetooth stage in the iFi Audio GO Blu makes use of Qualcomm’s latestfour-core QCC5100 Bluetooth chip. This chip feeds the DAC stage with a Cirrus Logic 32-bit DAC chip at itsheart and is coupled with a customized digital filter to minimize pre-echoes and ringing artefacts. Aprecision clock system is embedded to ensure ultra-low jitter, reducing errors and distortion in the digitalaudio signal. The Amplifier circuitry benefits from symmetrical twin-mono signal paths and utilizes iFi’sDirect Drive design to ensure a clean signal path without distortion-inducing output coupling capacitors.The amplifier stage delivers up to 5.6V, handling tough headphone loads with ease. To ensure signal strengthis suitable for sensitive headphones and earphones, auto-gain adjusts output up or down by 6dB.

The iFi Audio GO Blu offers sonic tailoring options with two user-selectablefeatures - XBass and XSpace. The first is XBass, a sophisticated form of 'bass boost' that enhances lowfrequencies without muddying the midrange, particularly useful with earphones and open-back headphonesthatmay lack deep bass. The second is XSpace, a setting designed to compensate for the 'in-headlocalisation'effect that can occur when using headphones to listen to music that was mixed using a pair of speakers,effectively widening the headphone soundstage to deliver a more spacious and speaker-like experience.Boththese settings operate entirely in the analogue domain rather than messing with the digital signal viaDSP(Digital Signal Processing) and may be switched in or out of the signal path.

Powerful Sound!!

I have been a huge fan of portable DAC/AMPS ever since I started using FIIO BTR5 which have ruled this market segment until now. Although the BTR5s are a feature juggernaut as compared to these where you get much more control for fine tuning the sound at a granular level, the Ifi GoBlu emphasises on simplicity. No app, no confusing feature sets but pure powerful sound at your fingertips with minimal physical controls to fine tune. I love the Xbass that add just a touch of bass needed to change the entire spectrum of the music. I’m a typical metal head and I love these with my Hifiman Sundaras and my Audeze LCD 2cs, both of which are not easy to drive headphones. And the best of all is the volume knob which is a bliss to have which I really missed with the BTR5s. Overall a super tiny, light and powerful companion for your hard to drive audio gear featuring as good a sound as tbe BTR5s and even better with the addition of Xbass. And forgot to mention, Xspace is just mind blowing with QCODE podcasts.I love em. ❤️❤️

Disappointed 😥

Aesthetically, design looks premium.
However, output is pathetic using usb connection. It's really low on volume and no details are present. I was using a simple usb c to 3.5mm dongle which gave lot of details, loudness compared to this expensive product. My devices internal dac performed far better. Even Bluetooth performance is really poor. Money 💷 wasted. I tried with Samsung S22 Ultra, Ipad and Asus Zenfone. All had the similar issues listed above.

Perfect for on the go music

The Go Blu works great both as a plugged in device or connected via Bluetooth. I couldn't detect any perceptible drop off in audio quality even on bluetooth with Campfire Polaris IEMs. Good also for calls on the go - for instance, I walk around at home when listening to music with full size headphones. With the Go Blu I can take calls on those phones even though they dont have a mic. Nice convenience. Is a bit expensive on Headphone Zone at full price - the Raghav birthday price with a 5k discount seems more fair. Also misses a collar or waistband clip. Else great on audio quality, battery life etc. The rotary volume dial is a nice touch.
