Why it Sounds Amazing

🔈 Dynamic Driver

The dynamic powerhouse of your sound ⚡!

We believe dynamic drivers are like the "reliable workhorses" of the headphone world they've been perfected over decades and continue to deliver incredible performance. This driver design uses a lightweight diaphragm attached to a voice coil suspended within a permanent magnetic field, enabling precise and responsive movement that produces sound with remarkable efficiency. Think of them like precision engines that convert electrical energy into acoustic energy with impressive power and naturalness.

Dynamic drivers excel at delivering powerful and authoritative bass reproduction, clear midrange frequencies, and vibrant high frequencies. The inherent strengths ensure your music is reproduced with impressive dynamics and energy that stays true to the artist's intent 🎶.

When you see "🔈 Dynamic Driver" products, expect energetic, natural sound with excellent dynamics that bring every note and beat to life with exceptional realism.
⚓ Neutral with Bass Boost Sound Signature

We describe this one as honest sound with an anchor holding the bottom. Everything above stays true to the recording, and underneath it all there is real weight and body. In our experience this is the quiet favourite of modern audio, the tuning people land on after they have tried everything else 🎧.

Here's what's actually happening. The mids and treble are left neutral and uncoloured, and the only deviation is a lift in the bass, usually down in the sub-bass where you feel it rather than the mid-bass where it can turn muddy. That keeps vocals and instruments completely honest while adding the physical foundation a pure neutral tuning can lack. The trade off is that it commits to neither extreme. It is not enough bass for a true basshead and not quite pure enough for a purist, which is exactly why most people love it.

When you see "⚓ Neutral with Bass Boost Sound Signature" products, expect accurate, uncoloured sound with satisfying weight underneath, the safest recommendation we make.
💣 Thick Bass / Kickass Bass

When We say kickass bass, We’re talking about bass that slaps you right in the face in the best way possible. It’s that visceral, chest thumping low end that makes you feel like you’re in the front row of a concert or a nightclub. If you’re into hip hop, EDM, Bollywood beats, or anything with a deep groove, this is where the fun begins. 🔊💥

Here’s what’s going on technically: the low frequency range is heavily emphasised, resulting in powerful sub bass rumble and impactful mid bass slam. This kind of tuning brings weight, warmth, and physicality to your music. The trade off? It might mask some midrange detail or high frequency sparkle but for bassheads, the emotional payoff is more than worth it.
🍿 Crisp Vocals & Instruments

Vocals and instruments sound so good, it's like a warm hug 🤗!

We believe that when vocals are reproduced correctly, they should feel like the artist is performing right there with you. These headphones demonstrate exceptional prowess in reproducing clear, articulate vocals and instruments, with each element rendered in stunning detail and separation. Think of it like having front row seats to an intimate acoustic performance where every breath, every string resonance, every subtle inflection comes through perfectly.

The natural timbre and tonal accuracy create an engaging presentation where every nuance is preserved while maintaining fatigue free listening. Each word, note, and subtle inflection is reproduced with outstanding definition and emotional connection 🎤.

When you encounter "🍿 Crisp Vocals & Instruments" products, expect vocal excellence that brings you closer to the emotional heart of every performance.
📌 Sharp & Precise Details

Are you a lover of sharp and precise details 🔍?

We believe that detail retrieval is like having audio superpowers suddenly, you hear things in familiar songs that you never knew existed. These premium headphones are meticulously engineered to deliver remarkably detailed and precise sound reproduction, capturing every subtle nuance with exceptional accuracy. Think of them like high resolution cameras for your ears that reveal the finest textures and micro details that most headphones simply miss.

The carefully tuned drivers and advanced acoustic design ensure even the most delicate musical elements are reproduced with stunning precision. From the gentle brush of a cymbal to the subtle resonance of acoustic instruments, these products capture and present every sonic detail with remarkable accuracy 🎯.

When you see "📌 Sharp & Precise Details" products, expect extraordinary detail resolution that reveals new layers in familiar recordings with stunning clarity and precision.
🍰 Layered and Nuanced Sound

Imagine sitting in the second row of a grand music hall 🎼, where each instrument's placement creates a vivid sonic landscape before you. We believe these headphones recreate that precise spatial positioning, allowing you to distinctly perceive where each instrument would be on an imaginary stage. Think of it like watching an orchestra conductor you can follow each section independently while appreciating how they work together in perfect harmony. The layered presentation ensures every element occupies its own distinct space while contributing to the whole.

This audio equipment creates a detailed listening experience where musical notes, overtones, and reverberations shine through clearly, keeping complex passages distinct and well separated. The tuning excels at revealing subtle interplay between instruments and the natural ambiance of recording spaces 🎯.

When you see "🍰 Layered and Nuanced Sound" products, expect intricate soundscapes that reveal the depth, complexity, and artistry in your favorite music with exceptional clarity.
🔍 Perfect to Analyse Music

Delve deeper into intricate musical layers 🎼!

We believe that some headphones are like musical microscopes they reveal details and nuances that most people never even know exist in their favourite songs. These specialised audio tools are meticulously engineered for those who seek to explore the deepest intricacies of sound, offering exceptional precision for detailed music analysis. Think of them as detective tools for music that help you uncover every hidden element in complex compositions.

These products enable you to dissect and examine every aspect of the musical landscape, from subtle instrument textures to precise timing, from delicate vocal overtones to intricate harmonic layering. They're specifically crafted for musicians, producers, and discerning audiophiles who desire profound insights into technical and artistic elements 🔬.

When you encounter "🔍 Perfect to Analyse Music" products, expect analytical precision that reveals layers of detail and musical craftsmanship you never knew existed.
🚂 Needs Amplification

We tend to say this when a headphone or DAC just doesn’t wake up unless it’s got some real juice behind it. Think of it like a sports car that needs the right kind of fuel without enough power, it won’t go anywhere near top speed. Some gear, especially those with high impedance or low sensitivity, demands a dedicated amplifier to reach its full potential.

Here's the trade off: these headphones or IEMs may sound underwhelming straight out of a phone or laptop, but when paired with proper gear, they transform dramatically. You get tighter bass, better control, and improved resolution.

If you’ve got a power hungry planar or a studio grade headphone, investing in a portable or desktop amp will unlock nuance, dynamics, and depth that you’re otherwise missing out on. ⚡

  • Flat Sound Signature

We tend to describe a flat sound signature as the studio monitor of headphones. What goes in is what comes out, with no flavour and no forgiveness. It is built for people who are working on audio rather than relaxing into it, and it tells you the truth even when the truth is inconvenient 🎚️.

Here's what's actually happening. The frequency response is engineered to be as measurably even as possible, so bass, mids and treble all sit at the same level with nothing lifted or rolled off. That accuracy is exactly what you want when you are mixing, mastering or making a decision about a recording. The trade off is enjoyment. A flat tuning will expose a badly mastered track without mercy, and casual listeners often find it clinical.

When you see "📏 Flat Sound Signature" products, expect reference grade accuracy built for critical work, the kind of honesty that helps you make decisions rather than escape into music.
  • Smooth & Sweet Treble

Seeking something that sounds smooth and devoid of harshness 🥰? We tend to describe these headphones as having "silk like highs" that caress your ears rather than assault them. These products are meticulously designed to deliver high frequencies that are wonderfully gentle, offering a listening experience that's both sophisticated and delightful. Think of it like the difference between premium chocolate and cheap candy both are sweet, but one provides refined pleasure while the other can be overwhelming.

The carefully tuned treble presentation ensures musical details come through with remarkable clarity while maintaining natural, fatigue free character. The refined high frequency presentation maintains excellent detail and air while avoiding any hint of harshness or stridency ✨.

When you see "🍦 Smooth & Sweet Treble" products, expect refined high frequencies that deliver crisp detail with a touch of sweetness and sophistication.

  • Mild V-Shaped Sound Signature

We think of a mild V as the same recipe with the heat dialled out. Seasoned, not spicy. You still get the lift at both ends and the sense of energy that comes with it, but the vocals never leave the room. In our experience this is what most people actually mean when they say they want something fun but not exhausting 🫑.

Here's what's actually happening. The shape is identical to a V, but every part of it is gentler. A modest boost at the low and high ends sits either side of a shallow dip through the mids, so voices and lead instruments stay present rather than stepping back. That makes it the safest crowd pleaser we carry, and the natural next step for anyone who found a full V-shape tiring. The trade off is drama. A basshead will find it polite, and that is by design.

When you see "🫑 Mild V-Shape Sound Signature" products, expect energy and sparkle with the vocals still front and centre, an easy all day listen.
  • Crisp Vocals & Instruments

Vocals and instruments sound so good, it's like a warm hug !

It's amazing how I can make it sound however I want!

Coming from the XM5s, I can confidently say that this is a proper audiophile upgrade. Now the XM5s sound like trash to me 😂. The first time I plugged the HD 620S into my PC, I was like, why does it sound so boxy and flat? But then I EQed it, and OH MY GOD!!!! 🤯 Everything changed! The vocals became so detailed and sharp, almost like a live performance. The sound was so beautiful and detailed that it almost made me cry 😭.

People say the HD 620S isn't a bassy headphone, but I completely disagree! Coming from a bass heavy headphone like the XM5, I can say that the bass on the HD 620S is SUPER detailed. I can hear every little detail, and honestly, the bass is more than enough for me 🥹. I'm a bass lover, and I'm completely satisfied with these headphones 😄.

The angled drivers really improve the surround sound experience and make you feel like you're actually there. And the last thing I wanna talk about is the closed back design. MAN, the sound isolation is SO GOOD! It almost feels like an ANC headphone. I can't hear anything around me when I'm playing music 🥹.

There's so much more I could talk about with these headphones, but I hope this review convinces someone to buy them. This might actually be my endgame headphone. Every frequency just satisfies my soul. 😍

I'm a beginner in the audiophile world, so take this as my personal experience!

For me:
LOWS = 10/10!!
MIDS = 10/10!!
HIGHS = 10/10!!

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THESE HEADPHONES 😍❤️

As good as it gets!

Besides my IEMs and XM4 buds, I have Sony WH1000-XM4 and Kiwi Ears Division in my audio garage. The Sony XM4 no doubt continues to be great utility in noisy commutes/environment. But as you grow in the audiophile journey, you begin to appreciate THE AUDIO and THE BUILD of the gear so that it doesn't creak into the pristine audio. This is where the Senn HD620S took me to a different plane.

Why you should buy this?
- Superb balanced sound with a hint of warmth.
- Elevated bass compared to other 6-series.
- Opens up your music: You can hear the details and layers that you didn't know existed. The silences are heard (like the way blacks are black-er in good OLED screens).
- Does a full justice to vocals (mids) and highs.
- While extreme audiophiles don't agree, but I think HD620S is delivering phenomenal sound stage in a closed-back environment. I didn't know that it's possible to this extent! You will feel that you're in a room with multi-speakers, as the audio layers move horizontally and vertically. I listen to International music and complex sound engineering of Deep House - this headphone effortlessly resolves the details and then some more. Bollywood/Indie music is a cakewalk for these cans.
- While it is running fine on my Pixel + FiiO KA11 combo (volume 40, good resolution), the HD620S opens up to another level on my laptop! (volume 10, excellent resolution). So if you have spend a lot of time with your laptop, this is the best possible audio equipment you can buy. Bless me in your thoughts later.
- Superb Senn built-to-last quality.

Why you shouldn't buy this?
- If you're a basshead, look elsewhere. This doesn't come close to FiiO FT1 or Meze 99 Gen 2.
- Although not an impediment, it blooms better with stronger dongle dacs like FiiO KA11 and upwards.
- If you need the ANC and fancy features of Sony XM6, Bose Ultra QC, Apple etc. then stay away.

I had a tough time prioritizing between FiiO FT1, Senn HD620S and Meze 99 Classic Gen 2 at Headphonezone Connect. Thinking hard, I feel that FiiO FT1 offers much more value (better sound) at less than half the Meze 99 price. So the immediate prioritisation boiled down to FT1 vs HD620S. Now, many good IEMs <10k offers incredibly clean bass, including my Kiwi Ears Cadenza and ND Planet. So I decided to go for the HD620S for now. And boy, its a fantastic decision! Although, at some point, I may add a warmer headphone like the FT1 or 99 Classic 2 to my audio garage too.

If you are looking for a closed-back audiophile headphone under INR 50k that can often fool you with the tropes of an open-back headphone, your buck should stop here.

Sennheiser HD 620s

I have bought the airpods max and also had the XM4 but I think the sennheiser really beats it this time. I also have heard about XM5 being better but I think the a HD 620s has a better noise cancellation and form factor around the ears which gives it better anc personally for my ears. I think you should compare them to XM4 for the price, the XM5 and Meze 99 classic around the price range and then choose the one which suits you.

Hi there! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Sennheiser HD 620s. Happy listening!

Incredible headphone, absolutely deserves to be beside HD600.

Very neutral, balanced sound. Wide and spacious soundstage, sounds like an open back. Great imaging and resolution as well. Passive isolation is excellent. I use it more than HD600. It's easy to drive but responds positively to better amplification.
Just make sure to get a vacuum seal and make sure that the slider mechanism is set to low so the pads clamp hard and conform to your skin, otherwise you will get an undesirable one-note mid bass hump. It's more comfortable than 600 as the ears don't touch the driver inside. Smoother sounding than 490 Pro (490 Pro is wider and has deeper bass but has limited excursion capabilities from my experience and treble is notably harsher and rough).

Thank you for sharing your review of the Sennheiser - HD 620S.
