Meet the Sennheiser HD 820, a headphone that gives you both — the wide spaciousness of an open-back headphone and the rich noise isolation of a closed-back. Featuring high-quality components with silver-wrapped OFC cables, glass covers and durable metal, this is one headphone that looks and sounds awesome.

  • Rediscover Music

Experience every nuance in your music with the HD 820. It gives you reference-quality audio that is very spacious. Every note sounds vivid and life-like, just the way the sound engineer intended it to be.

    Open Sound in a Closed-Back

Most audiophiles feel that music can truly be enjoyed only with the wide spaciousness of an open-back headphone. But, the Sennheiser HD 820 is here to change that with its special Ring Radiator transducers and unique glass covers. These covers are concave in shape and reflect the sound waves from the drivers to an absorber, thus giving you a similar open sound.

    Only High-Quality Sound Passes Through

Each and every part of the HD 820 has been crafted by experts to give you the best performance. The impedance-matching cable is specially tuned and symmetrical to reduce capacitance. It has silver-wrapped OFC wires and ends with a balanced 4.4mm gold-plated jack. This offers superior contact resistance.

    A Timeless Beauty

Only high-quality materials are used to make this headphone. This includes the comfortable handcrafted earpads as well as the robust metal headband. The HD 820 also looks great with its glass covers that let you view the inside components of the headphone.

"Once given a little time to warm up, you’re greeted with a smooth, full-bodied tonal balance that trades the last ounce of transparency and sonic agility for the kind of sound that’s easy to listen to for hours on end despite the quality of the recording."

"With an impedance of 300 Ohm, the HD820s are quite power-hungry and you’ll want a beefy amplifier to plug them into. I fully agree with Sennheiser’s claim that this is the most “open-feeling” closed-back headphone, with the widest and deepest soundstage yet."
