Shanling - M1 Plus Case

The Shanling M1 case fits the DAP like a glove. Besides providing some protection from falls and scratches, it also improves the grip on the player considerably. And given that this small player is likely to be taken along on walks etc, this is quite useful.

It is a leatherette case, so I can’t predict its longevity. But it seems to be well made and I expect it to last at least a couple of years.

All the physical buttons are easily accessible except the rear side of the volume button which gets partially covered. But one can still adjust the volume from the front side of the button.

The one major design issue is that the onscreen back arrow at the top left of the screen becomes difficult to click after the case is added. Shanling needs to correct this through a UI update by pulling that arrow further away from the edge. This is the reason I’ve deducted one star.

Overall, I’d rather use the DAP with this case than without. It also looks classy on the black unit. Not sure if it’d look that good on the silver one though. But that’s a personal choice. I am glad Shanling has designed the case well and made it available at a reasonable price.
