Why it Sounds Amazing
🔈 Dynamic Driver
The dynamic powerhouse of your sound ⚡!
We believe dynamic drivers are like the "reliable workhorses" of the headphone world they've been perfected over decades and continue to deliver incredible performance. This driver design uses a lightweight diaphragm attached to a voice coil suspended within a permanent magnetic field, enabling precise and responsive movement that produces sound with remarkable efficiency. Think of them like precision engines that convert electrical energy into acoustic energy with impressive power and naturalness.
Dynamic drivers excel at delivering powerful and authoritative bass reproduction, clear midrange frequencies, and vibrant high frequencies. The inherent strengths ensure your music is reproduced with impressive dynamics and energy that stays true to the artist's intent 🎶.
When you see "🔈 Dynamic Driver" products, expect energetic, natural sound with excellent dynamics that bring every note and beat to life with exceptional realism.
🧈 Warm & Smooth Sound Signature
We tend to describe warm and smooth as the audio equivalent of a hot cup of tea on a rainy day. Comforting, rich and very easy to love. Voices sound full, guitars sound rounded, and you look up four hours later wondering where the evening went. This is comfort listening, and there is no shame in that 🎶.
Here's what's actually happening. The bass and lower midrange are elevated to give the sound body and richness, while the treble is gently tamed so nothing ever turns sharp. That combination is wonderful for jazz, vocals, indie and old school rock, and it is genuinely forgiving of recordings that are a little rough. The trade off is precision. This is not the tuning for picking a mix apart, and detail hunters will find it soft.
When you see "🧈 Warm & Smooth Sound Signature" products, expect full bodied, relaxed sound made for long sessions rather than close analysis.
😳 Ultra-Wide Sound Stage
Do you wish to bring the concert hall to your ears 🏛️?
We love describing ultra wide soundstage as "audio magic" that creates a breathtaking three dimensional environment around your head. These specialised headphones feature an exceptionally spacious soundstage that creates the illusion you're sitting in the sweet spot of a magnificent performance venue. Think of it like teleportation technology for your ears suddenly you're not wearing headphones, you're sitting in Carnegie Hall with perfect acoustics.
The precise instrument placement and remarkable sense of space work together to transport you directly into the music, making you feel as though you're experiencing a live performance. This creates a listening experience that's grand, enveloping, and incredibly detailed 🎭.
When you encounter "😳 Ultra Wide Soundstage" products, expect concert hall acoustics that make you forget you're wearing headphones through sheer spaciousness and realism.
🍦 Smooth & Sweet Treble
Seeking something that sounds smooth and devoid of harshness 🥰? We tend to describe these headphones as having "silk like highs" that caress your ears rather than assault them. These products are meticulously designed to deliver high frequencies that are wonderfully gentle, offering a listening experience that's both sophisticated and delightful. Think of it like the difference between premium chocolate and cheap candy both are sweet, but one provides refined pleasure while the other can be overwhelming.
The carefully tuned treble presentation ensures musical details come through with remarkable clarity while maintaining natural, fatigue free character. The refined high frequency presentation maintains excellent detail and air while avoiding any hint of harshness or stridency ✨.
When you see "🍦 Smooth & Sweet Treble" products, expect refined high frequencies that deliver crisp detail with a touch of sweetness and sophistication.
🥃 Perfect to Layback & Relax
In our experience, a laid back sound is like sinking into your favorite armchair after a long day. It doesn’t push details in your face or try to overwhelm you with energy. Instead, it gives your music room to breathe and unfold naturally. Think of it like sipping a glass of smooth whisky there’s warmth, body, and ease. These headphones or IEMs are ideal for those who want to unwind and soak in a mellow vibe, whether it's a jazz trio or acoustic singer songwriter set. 🎧
Now, what’s actually happening here is a tuning that gently rolls off the treble and offers a warm, full low end. The midrange stays intimate, while bass adds comfort without punch, and highs avoid fatigue, making long sessions a pleasure. You won’t get maximum detail or separation but that’s the point. It’s not about dissecting the mix it’s about relaxing into it. For bedtime listening or just zoning out, this is your sonic hammock. 😌

This is the best headphone in my opinion. Cheap enough to rough use it and sound good. Comfort is also a plus point for me. I highly recommend this set if u wanna get into headphones that sounds decent without breaking the bank.
This is the most easily-recommendable audio thing I’ve reviewed in a very long time. It’s a great starter open-back headphone with sound quality that I’d find good.
If you gravitate towards great midrange, and a healthy and open sound stage, this will be a great option for you. It manages to keep the vocals clear while not taking too much away from the highs or the lows.
The KPH30i are less distinctively and divisively styled than the 1984 designed Porta Pros. The cable and comfort are (perhaps) an upgrade. The KPH30i sound almost as good to my ears.
The KPH30i on-ear headphones, The sound is beautifully balanced, with an amply endowed midrange tone that flatters the sound of vocals, and the upper bass is also rich and satisfying.

- If I could only own one pair, this would be it.
- It can make 10-15k headphones run for their worth in sound quality.
- Good sound does not need to be expensive.
I have never heard any headphones like it in this price bracket, it can make 10-15k headphones run for their worth in sound quality. If you play it with a DAP, it sounds even noticeably better.
I’ve owned plenty of headphones and earphones, including the EarFun Wave Pro, Audio Technica ATH-M50X, and TruthEar Hexa, but this one is a sweet surprise. I keep reaching for it to play metal, pop, regional, acoustic, and Punjabi music, plus podcasts and YouTube. If I could only own one pair, this would be it. Thanks to the HZ Team for the quick delivery.
We're so glad you found a pair that truly resonates with how you listen.
After owning plenty of neutral headphones and earphones (EarFun Wave Pro, Audio Technica ATH M50X, TruthEar Hexa) this one is a sweet surprise. I keep reaching for it to replay my fav songs( Metal, Pop, Regional, Acoustic, Punjabi and Podcasts and YouTube). If I could own only one pair, this would be it. Thanks to the HZ Team for the quick delivery!
We love knowing that these have found a place in your daily ritual.

My auricles feel tighten after a long session
best
We love that you are finding details in your music you never noticed before.
The cushion gets hot and uncomfortable in this summer. Beautiful sound profile though. I am a little disappointed at you . Last time I have bought the salnotes zero and the other time I have bought a DAC both of the times there were a few gifts and notes. Like the earphone couch and the music cards. However there was nothing with this order. I would have been happier had you send anything with the order. Anyways best of the luck in your venture.
I was not expecting much but man did it surprise me this sound quality at this price point its musical been enjoying it and one thing due to on ear it get bit uncomfortable after long listening session. Overall im loving it
V comfortable and good
It's exceptionally good for the price.
For serious listening I have Sennheiser hd 560s with me .Koss fills gaps in between smartphone and dedicated pc with sound card.
Very good quality, compatible with high - end headphones.
Probably the best sound experience one can get from a headphone this cheap. Staging is amazing. Only downside for me is that it is a little bass heavy which can drown out vocals and the overall mid range.
Amazing Sound Stage
I recently bought the Koss KPH30i and overall I’m very satisfied — for the price, these headphones punch well above their weight. The sound is smooth, warm, and surprisingly “open” for on-ear cans: bass is present and punchy (though not earth-shaking in the deepest sub-bass), mids are natural and vocals come through clearly, and the treble stays polite and non-fatiguing.
Comfort and build are another strong point: the KPH30i are very light, and the suspension headband distributes weight nicely, so I can wear them for hours without much fatigue.
there are trade-offs: these are open-back on-ear headphones, so isolation is minimal and sound leaks — they’re not ideal in noisy/commuter environments or when you want privacy. Also, build quality feels a bit fragile: there are reports of headband breakage if treated roughly, so I’d advise handling with care.
Overall: if you want a budget-friendly pair that sounds fun, engaging, and good for relaxed listening (music, podcasts, audiobooks at home or in quiet places), KPH30i is hard to beat for the price. Just don’t expect studio-grade detail or heavy isolation — and treat them gently.
I bought the clear ones and they look really nice. Build is good. I thought they would be like regular PC headphones for calls, I wasn't expecting a lot music from them. But i am surprised. They sound great. Sound is nicely balanced with decent bass. Mic also works fine. Good packaging from headphoneZone. Worth the buy.
In my review I can see that that the sound graph you plotted in your website is quite wrong also the mic is not also working you said balance sound signature but I found it too bassy it's an open back but the trebles and the mids weren't free also because of over bass, the high frequency sounds gurgled around like "rrrrrrrrr" also buy kinda distorted please update the sound graph as it may create a problem for you guys thank you as an old customer of yours I respect you members of HZn🫶🏻
Bang for your rupees..
Punches far above it's weight
Happy to have it. Nice product. Best for beginners open back. But my delevery experience is poor. After calling to dilivery partner. I finally get my product after 10 days. I have mailed you people but respect from you is not that good. I know it is not your fault. Dilivery partner don't have any employee to deliver me my parcel at thak moment. At atleast give me a update through mail. I emailed you people 2 times. But you people send me same email 2 times. Although love to buy form you people. Hope this problem in my pincode will resolve soon.
It's pretty good! I wanted a pair of headphones that don't make my ears hurt after a while because I edit a lot, and these ones are pretty comfortable! :)
That’s great to hear! Comfort is key for long editing sessions, and the KPH30i sounds like it’s nailing it. Keep the music playing!
Been using a beige one for years, was looking for clear to be available here for long.
That’s great! Glad you finally found the clear variant you were looking for. Keep the music playing!
The Koss KPH30i's Clear variant is unique to other KPH30i. Clear variant not only looks different with its transparent housing but also sounds significantly different from the other colour variants primarily due to the absence of foam on the internals. Straight out of the box, the KPH30i Clear sounds fantastic!
Looks and comfort: I really adore the transparent looks of the Clear. The clamping force does not feel too much to me and I've been using it for hours, however if you wear glasses, the clamping force may create a hotspot where the frame rests on your ears and may cause some discomfort.
Comparison to KSC75: The Koss KPH30i compared to the KSC75 sounds fuller thanks to elevated and better extended bass. Mids however are a tie between the two where both sound natural enough, however I still prefer the air and clarity KSC75 provides. An analogy I can make is that the KSC75 sounds like a desktop speaker but KPH30i sounds like a car speaker, mainly because of bass differences. Bit of nit-picking of KPH30i is that the bass (including but less pronounced on Clears) somewhat bleed into mids making the often mentioned "veiled" sound of KPH30i. This is much less prominent on the KSC75 but the trait is present which probably goes unnoticed because of less overall quantity of bass on the KSC75.
Gaming: The KPH30i's imaging is really a standout factor compared to KSC75 I've noticed, making it easier to pinpoint the direction of footsteps and other cues. However, both lack giving a sense of near or far spatial positioning. Overall for gaming, I slightly prefer KPH30i Clear for competitive and greatly prefer KPH30i Clear for immersive gaming experience.
Personally, with EQ to clean up the bass, the KPH30i provides the most complete audio package in Koss trifecta, regardless of KPH30i variants. I also plan to mod these in near future with different pads to squeeze more out of these budget demons.
Having not tried any non-clear KPH30i variant, I can't give a definitive answer on what differs between them sonically. But reportedly, various users and reviewers said there is less bass on the Clears. There are very few frequency response measurements of the Clear variant available, so if HPZ would like to measure and publish their KPH30i's Clear measurements, it would be a huge help to the community!
What an incredible and detailed review! 🙌 Your breakdown of the Clear’s unique looks, sound, and even gaming performance is super insightful, especially the comparison with the KSC75. We love how you’ve captured both the strengths and quirks, and your EQ + modding plans sound exciting. Thanks a ton for sharing, this will definitely help the community. Keep the music playing!
All the hype related to exceptional sound quality at an affordable price point appears true. However, i am not sold on the comfort part yet. They are indeed very light weight and you expect minimal clamping force. But, somehow, possibly due to over ear design, the comfort is not as good as the sound. And since the headband is plastic, one does not expect the comfort to improve over repeated use. 1 star less than 5, due to this challenge from my side.
Appreciate the honest feedback! We're glad the sound lived up to the hype, and we hear you on the comfort concerns. Hope they grow on you over time. Keep the music playing!
For its price it’s a first rate product. Easy to use & super sounding.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it!
The Koss really is a classic, simple, great-sounding, and unbeatable for the price. Keep the music playing!
A winning combo of comfort, price and sound quality. A little too much bass for my liking, but nothing to complain about. Very satisfying purchase!
It makes us happy to hear you liked them! We're glad they met your expectations.
Koss - KPH30i
Thanks for the excellent rating!
The audio graph provided on the website is accurate, and loss kph30i s look stylish and deliver a clean, plush sound with a focus on the upper miss and bass. The build is light but durable and I'd recommend getting additional foam pads
Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you’re enjoying the product. Your support means the world to us!
