For the brand-new R7 FiiO has incorporated an ESS Sabre ES9068AS DAC chip in its circuitry. It is a Hi-Res DAC chip capable of decoding up to 384kHz/32bit PCM (Pulse Code Modulation), Native DSD256 (Direct Stream Digital), and 8X MQA decoding (Master Quality Authenticated). The ESS ES9068AS decoder chipset and the 4th-gen FPGA featuring phase-locked loop clock technology and a pair of femtosecond crystal oscillators, promise precise and low-jitter clock signals. OPTIMISED AUDIO CIRCUIT DESIGN FUSED WITH THX AMPLIFICATION TECHNOLOGY & 5 LEVEL GAIN CONTROL

FiiO has developed an optimised audio circuit design for the R7. Following the decoding stage, the signal is fed to discreet opamps under a fully balanced configuration, passing through an I/V stage, low-pass filters, and a gain stage. Then, onto the dual THX AAA 788+ (THX - Tomlinson Holman’s eXperiment/AAA (Achromatic Audio Amplifier) module that does the final bit of amplification to power your headphones. The FiiO R7 can output more than 3W to headphones rated at 32Ω in impedance, making it among the most potent all-in-one streaming device. To cater to different gears, you can switch between 5 levels of gain which allows matching with sensitive IEMs or large over-ear headphones that demand ample power. At the highest gain level with 32Ω load, the R7 can output as much as 3650mW in each channel on Balanced output.

NUMEROUS INPUTS & OUTPUTS FOR EASY CONNECTIVITY AND SCALABILITY

The FiiO R7 features connectivity far beyond what you would expect from a device with which you can quickly and easily build a desktop HiFi system with the R7 as the heart of it. The front panel has 6.35mm (SE), 4-pin XLR & 4.4mm Balanced headphone outputs. The R7 gets you covered with the standard and widely used headphone outputs. The rear panel is where the magic lies. It hosts a microSD card slot which supports up to 2TB if you like to play offline files on the go. It has Single-Ended RCA and 3-pin XLR Balanced lineouts. Surprisingly it also has a USB host interface that supports external USB devices like decoders, hard disks, keyboards, and expansion hubs. It also offers Optical & Coaxial IN/OUT and an Ethernet port for wired connection to a network. The USB Type-C port (USB 3.0) on the R7 supports data transfer, DP output mode, USB DAC, and USB HOST-related functions. The R7 has a Bluetooth and WiFi antenna embedded into the rear panel with a power switch allowing you to switch between DC or AC power supply seamlessly.
