Grado has its deep roots in Brooklyn and has been hand-building headphones and cartridges since 1953. For three generations, tradition and heritage have been carried down with the philosophy that good sound comes first. The story of the SR60x holds a special place in Grado’s history, as the first pair of SR60x was built in 1994. Keeping up with the times, Grado upgrades the SR60x headphones to offers the world-renowned Grado sound. SR60x uses Grado's new X Series drivers, which have a lighter voice coil, redesigned diaphragms, and a more powerful magnetic circuit with a frequency response of 20 - 22,000 Hz. Couple the drivers with the SR60x’s comfortable new headband and 4-conductor cable, and you are presented with an unparalleled audio performance with utmost comfort.

Grado SR60x headphones have been equipped with the latest 4th gen of Grado X series drivers. Specifically tuned for the SR60x, the new dynamic driver’s design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with decreased effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Reengineering these components for Grado’s 44mm drivers improve efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music. The SR60x also utilises a new housing that is designed to work in tandem with the X series drivers to eliminate transient distortions. With these new drivers, specially designed housing and an open-back design, the Grado SR60x delivers harmonic colours, full-bodied vocals, and a world-renowned mid-range with a nominal impedance of 38 ohms.

Every aspect of the Grado SR60x has been carefully and precisely selected to match the new drivers and deliver an immersive listening experience. To support high fidelity audio transmission Grado SR60x comes equipped with a new cable, using a thicker jacket that houses four conductors made of super-annealed copper wire. This new cable ensures pure, accurate signal transfer, so you won't miss out on the details in your music. Couple those drivers with the SR60x's new redesigned extra cushioned headband, and you'll find that these headphones practically disappear while you're wearing them, leaving nothing between you and your music.

The team at Grado takes no shortcuts when it comes to crafting their headphones. The same is the case with the SR60x, which is hand-built by Grado's team in Brooklyn. This headphone goes from workbench to workbench until they are ready for your ears. Grado started building on a kitchen table in 1953, and every experience since then has led to the creation of the SR60x. This process of handcrafting headphones allows the team at Grado to maintain high quality with every single headphone. These headphones are a work of art when you come to think of their journey. To get you started, the SR60x comes bundled with a 6.5mm Golden adapter to connect the SR60x to various audio equipment.

I wanted the Grados. I got the Grados because HPZ's pricing was just awesome!!

Honest review here: I've wanted the Grados ever since I got to know about them. Not only are they my 1st open-back headphones, but they are also my BEST open-back headphones. My primary reason for getting a pair was to enhance my content watching experience. I like consuming all kinds of content and after I tested the Grados out - it was amazing! It's like a mini home theatre where the soundstage just opens up in front of you. Crisp clarity and just such a treat! I've also tested it with some music on my phone/PC and music also has great clarity, instrumental separation and soundstage as well. You don't have to put your volume too high to listen to music either! (if you're in a fairly noiseless room). I even took office meets and phone calls with my Grados, paired with my Astell & Kern AK XB10 just because! and aw man, voices have never been so crisp and clear, so much so, i used this combo fairly often.

The best part about the Grados is definitely their sound and quality but it's also because of HPZ's "The No Reason Sale" cause of that sweet pricing they had on these! Irresistible & much thanks to HPZ for having that sale!

This makes us really happy and we really appreciate the genuine feedback! We're glad that you have such positive thoughts about our team and the company.

Exceptional treble

Thank you headphone zone team for finally letting me buy a pair of Grado headphones. Although I would highly recommend the team to provide the bowl shaped replacement pads as they enhance the sound quality and comfort a lot. Initially the probably won't fit you but you need to adjust the headband and bend it to the shape of your head. The cable is a bit annoying but you can get used to it. It lives up to its reputation of having extra treble and sparkle. These are not for bass heads. They do have bass but it's toned down. They're also open back so they'll let all the external sounds in. But when you're in relatively quiet environment, through a half decent DAC, they shine. Movies sound phenomenal through these especially voices and so do higher frequency instruments such as violin, cymbals in jazz etc. Highly recommended.

The cable is too annoying

The soundstage is awesome. Great mids and treble. But i bought it thinking i could walk out with it, but the cable is too thick and it's hard to carry around. :/
