It’s been a bare five odd hours of usage and I’ve already been moved to tears. Tears of Joy and ecstasy. My previous DAC the Pontus II has that quality, but this Chord combo of the Hugo TT2 and M scaler takes it to an earthless realm. Their detail extraction is obsessive and paranoid. It is unsparing, brutal, pacy, yet smooth. Now I hear the small change in voice when the singer’s face moves in front of the mic. I can’t say whether it’s a quality to have or not, but it is there. Many tracks have elevated themselves in layers and texture and many have come a crashing for being just so sloppy. If you value precision, detail and a sound that’s been created with utmost desire for perfection, go for it. I love it and I think it’ll be in my system for many years to come.

Got the black version. It is slightly heavier and thicker than m scaler. The dac uses chord proprietary algorithm for filtering the quantization noise. The first impression even before any burn in, with my open back dynamic headphones is the ease of music. Music just smoothly flows, the singers have all the delicate details of voice modulation, breath and even lip movement but without any harshness whatsoever. the best part you don't want to stop midway to any song or fast forward. Bass has so much more texture than any other dac. The overall frequency response is neutral to warmish side. It takes all kind of digital inputs. With dual BNC inputs it takes upto 768khz input from chord m scaler and sound quality improved further and the combo becomes one of the best dac at any price, it is so good. It has two 6.3mm headphone out and one 3.5mm headphone out. XLR and RCA out are on the back. XLR out is very powerful and can drive efficient speakers at good listening levels. since it has digital volume control, it acts as pre and can feed power amp directly. All the controls are extremely intuitive. All in all one of the best dac available for sound quality in market at any price aided by plethora of features. This itself is already end game thing but with Hugo m scaler it breaches the barrier of even end game, it is so good. must must have for all audio enthusiast looking for ultimate in audio reproduction.
