What does "ships within 24/48 hours" mean?

In a nutshell, ships within 24/48 hours basically means that your product will be shipped out or dispatched from our warehouse within 24/48 hours after placing the order. It also indicates that the products are readily available at our warehouse and once we receive your order, we dispatch it out at the earliest either on the same day or the next working day depending on when you’ve placed your order.

What it does not mean:

A lot of our customers assume that it means their order will get delivered to them within 24/48 hours, but that’s not what it means. For an order to reach you, it can take anywhere up to 3-4 business days, depending on which part of India you are placing an order from.

However, if you receive an incorrect / damaged / different product or one with missing accessories, please raise a return request within 24 hours of delivery. In case you receive a product with a missing, incorrect, or faulty accessory, you will be given a replacement accessory instead of the entire product.

Please make sure that the product is in the original packaging with all the accessories it came with. We'll also need an unboxing video and images of the parcel to investigate about the discrepancy. You may be asked to share images of the product and the packaging received for us to determine the damage or defect prior to approving the return request. The free replacement will be shipped only once the original order is returned.

A replacement will be issued only if:

DESCRIPTION

The RE400 is fully compatible with Android and iOS devices. You can connect the RE400 with the featured 3.5mm connector with a microphone delivering the best audio reproduction. The embedded microphone is a high-quality mic capable of transmitting clean audio.

While most companies selling in-ear headphones buy their drivers from outside suppliers, the RE-400's 8.5mm titanium-coated drivers were designed by HiFiMan engineers and are the company's own creation. Thus, making sure that everything is on par with their company standards. Impedance is rated at 32 ohms hence allowing easier connectivity. These custom drivers deliver the best in class audio performance and extended frequency response.

Ergonomically designed, the RE400 deliver the most comfortable fit for extended listening hours without causing fatigue. These earphones have an attractive, understated design with machined aluminium earpieces. The 50-inch-long, neodymium magnets and premium cabling of the oxygen-free copper cable ensure that your music is transmitted without artefacts and without causing any distortion. The wires can either hang straight down or loop back over your ears.

The earphones come in an extremely stylish looking design with a black body and silver accents. Convenient hands-free design allows you to talk on the phone clearly and safely at your home, office or on the road. The cable is wrapped up in rubber from the earbuds to the Y-splitter, thus making them very sturdy. The Extended wire from the connector is covered in braided fabric and does not feel flimsy any bit.The light weight design makes these IEM’s highly portable.

Regions of the frequency spectrum

SUB BASS
(20Hz - 80 Hz)

The first section of the frequency spectrum is the sub-bass. Everything below 80Hz is sub-bass, so generally, you need a subwoofer or a good pair of headphones (open-back headphones, for example) to hear this region. This region comprises instruments like the Kick Drum and the Bass Guitar. You should be able to hear Sub-Bass if you’re listening on monitors or headphones. But if you’re listening on a laptop or a phone, there’s no way you will hear that.

MID BASS
(80 Hz - 300 kHz)

After the Sub-Bass region, we get into the region known as the Bass or Mid-Bass. This region consists of everything between 80 and 300 hertz. In this area, we’ve got instruments like bass guitar and the low end of a snare. Lots of the low-end vocals as well, because male vocals are going to have the fundamental below 200Hz in most cases.

LOWER MIDRANGE
(300 Hz - 1000 kHz)

Next, if you go from 300 Hz up to 1000 kHz, this is known as the Lower Midrange, and this is a crucial region for music because this is where you get a lot of buildup with guitars, vocals, and even the top-end of the bass guitar especially. Lower Midrange is an area guilty of adding mud to a mix and clarity in this region lifts a track exponentially.

UPPER MIDRANGE
(1 kHz - 6 kHz)

Human hearing focuses inherently on this frequency range. So it’s crucial to get this range right. This region consists of the main focus of the track (e.g. vocals) and synths. Be aware that this is also where you can start to get into harshness and aggressive tones.

TREBLE
(6 kHz - 10 kHz)

After the Upper Midrange, we’ve got the Treble region between 6kHz and 8 kHz, and this is where things start to get harsh. This region is where we have brittleness from instruments like the Hi-Hats and Cymbals. This is also a crucial range for clarity and aggression, especially for female vocals.

AIR
(10 kHz - 20 kHz)

At the end of the frequency spectrum, we get to the Air region or the Top End. This region consists of everything above 10 kHz. This is where we have air and this is where we get a sense of shine and sparkle in our music.

Will these IEMs sound better than stock earphones?

In general, the HiFiMAN - RE400 will sound better than stock earphones that you may have used with your smartphone. These IEMs were built using high-quality drivers and materials and tuned to deliver a well-balanced sound signature. The HiFiMAN - RE400 IEMs provide a much more accurate and authentic reproduction of the original music recording and present a very high overall sound quality. Using them should change how you listen to your favourite artist and allow you to rediscover music.

Do these really sound better than Wireless Earbuds?

Wireless Earbuds are no doubt convenient. But they usually sound pretty ordinary. These IEMs, although wired, are designed and built with the goal of just delivering brilliant sound.

Keep in mind, wireless earphones, pack in batteries, Bluetooth receivers, electronic components and speakers that add to their cost and can end up at several times the price of an equivalent sounding wired earphone. And so, for the same budget, wireless earbuds can sound pretty ordinary compared to wired IEMs.

How do I use these IEMs if my phone doesn't have a 3.5mm output?

If your phone doesn't have a 3.5mm output, you can use a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter for android phones or a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter for Apple iPhones to connect the HiFiMAN - RE400 IEMs.

Alternatively, the best-sounding option is to go for a USB Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) to connect your IEMs. A good DAC makes a considerable difference to the overall sound of your set up and these DACs are highly capable and outperform inexpensive adapters. If you are looking for the best presentation of your music then a dedicated USB DAC is the way to go.

Do I really need a Digital To Analog Converter (DAC) or Amplifier to use these?

You don't necessarily need a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) or Amplifiers to use the HiFiMAN - RE400 IEMs, as they can be plugged directly into the 3.5mm output of your smartphones, tablets or laptops. They usually have enough power to drive these Earphones. However, using a dedicated DAC can improve the overall sound quality and provide a more detailed reproduction, especially if you are listening to Lossless or Hi-Res music.

Mids: exceptionally detailed
Lows: Now I have read some reviews saying sub bass is missing...not for bass heads...blah...blah...I say if you crave for the bassline in the song..you can clearly hear through these without even muffled a bit...very very extraordinary presentation of low frequencies...example in the song feel right by Mark Ronson the bassline is extremely audible with clear note represtation...
This is highly recommended for budding audiophiles, music enthusiast and for regular commuters as they provide solid isolation also.

Much more than meets the eye...

The sound is mind blowing at the price range, although the piece they are giving at the price of 2k is Hifiman RE400a, that doesn't have braided cable, volume controls and the metal slider shown in the pictures. Kindly mention this in the description, HeadphoneZone. Hyper clarity in highs, mids and lows, the lows are not tuned for bassheads though. Appreciable soundstage and excellent sound separation, the flat sound signature being the USP of Hifiman-RE400. The small size and design of the earphones makes for a very comfortable fit, and the small bi-flange ear tips are quite good. The cables look and feel quite flimsy, so handle with care is an understatement in this case. Overall, keeping cable flimsiness aside, an absolute bang for the buck.

Real Deal

A sound signature like this, flat and accurate tonally correct is definitely not expected from an in ear headphines with 8mm drivers. Truly a surprise!

I mostly listen to classical.music and instantly caught on to previously muted undertones, the scratch of the players fingers on the guitar, the gentle creak of wood on the piano when I used these little monsters with my FLACs. They have a decent soundstage that extends beyond your ears to somewhere around the range of a helmet ( just didn't expect that on these small drivers). Noise isolation is passive but they rest inside the ear and provide a good seal thereby eliminating most noise in my experience.

The only negative is microphonics and cord noise as this definitely something you might want to consider. Don't consider them if you want to stay active like marathon running or gymming while wearing these as the cord noise might interfere with your enjoyment.

Sound quality is well worth the money, that is if you listen to instrumentals and high quality codecs. Otherwise you might want peppy headphones as these are really flat and neutral sounding( some people do enjoy it!)

My Music Info:
I listen to a lot of Metal, mainly Thrash and Black metal, in a 18 hour day I listen to music for about 8 to 10 hours and these are truly a great pair of IEMs.

My Source Info:
Most of the time these are paired with my Fiio E07K DAC/AMP, for a brief time they got used with my OP3 and for around 1 hour they are used with Fiio X3II Hi-Res Player.

My Source Files:
Mostly I use Hi-Res Flac when playing through my amp or player.
320Kbps Mp3 are used for playback with my OP3.
All my sources and source files puts me in a state of bliss with worst of my earphones and let me tell you these are my 4th best earphones.

My sound Preferences:
Due to the nature of my musical interests a neutral sound is what I prefer the most but times comes when I tilt towards a little bass heavy EQ settings to accentuate Bass guitar.
Everything that I listen is played on a single EQ setting.

My review:
Bass: Well maintained, tight and responsive.

Mids: Male vocals are clean, female vocals are a bit harsh some times.

Highs: Cymbols are definitive and shimmers a lot but in a good way.

Sound stage: Every thing is placed where they should this is the only place where these outshines the Shure SE215s and defines the music a bit more.

Close to great sound but fragile

The re400a are really good sounding earphones, they come with a lot if accessories. Choose the ear tips wisely cause they'll have impact on sound.
The build quality of earphones is really good but not of the wires. Mine broke after 1 month cause i am rough user, but i used jugaad and just tied the wires again and they're still working fine.
