The new iFi Audio Headphone Adapter has been engineered and designed to offer a well defined, compact and exquisite form. The team at iFi Audio adopted a compact T-shaped design that is convenient and easy to carry for daily use. The shell, socket and internal connecting wires of the iFi Audio Headphone Adapter are all made of high-quality materials. The connecting plug of the Headphone Adapter has been enhanced by applying a Gold plating to the copper connector allowing better signal transmission. The adaptor is lightweight and features plated 316 stainless steel metal parts in the shell making the adaptor super sturdy. iFi Audio Headphone Adapter offers a 3.5mm single-ended female to 4.4mm balanced male connection, allowing you to connect to various earphones or headphones.
NOTE: Negative balanced signals are not connected to the ground in the adapter, enabling a 3.5mm single-ended headphone connector to be converted for use with a balanced 4.4mm output without risk of damage to the amplifier. This adapter does not convert a single-ended connector into a balanced one – the connection remains single-ended.

So, i own a Senheisser HD599SE headphone, a Truthear Crinacle Zero iem, and my DAC is the iFi zen dac v1.
Weirdly, using this adapter on my hd599se sounds exactly the same as the unbalanced 6.3mm output, but my Truthear Zero sounds WAY better.
But to address the issue, my Truthear Zero sounded worse on the 6.3mm jack than on my 20000 rs mobile phone. I checked to make sure if it's not plugged in properly or what not, but none of it was the case. It just didn't sound great, though it didn't sound anything God awfully wrong either. So i said eff it, and bought this adapter. Lo and behold, Truthear Zero sounds much much better now.
I know it sounds like i just didn't plug it in properly, but trust me I made sure it was, at least to the extent it would let me.
So in that sense i guess this adapter does its job.
Maybe iems are meant to be plugged in into the 4.4mm only? I really don't know, but i got the result what i was hoping for, so I'm happy.

It fulfils its purpose. I have a device in which 3.5mm jack stopped woring so I am utilising 4.4mm to use it with 3.5mm gadgets.

I have stacked my Hip Dac 2 with Topping NX7 Amp and play my Sundara through this arrangement. This sounds absolutely impeccable and extremely satisfying. However, given the fact that the HIP Dac has a discreet circuit for its balanced output and delivers higher wattage through its 4.4" Pentacon connection, I was missing out on these functionalities through the 3.5" single ended connection. Not any more! With this adapterI am able to take advantage of the superior balanced output in my Hip Dac and amplified through the NX7. I am able to notice a distinct improvement in the sound and output. The adapter itself is well built and clicks well in place. Coming from there same company which makes Hip Dac (iFi) does help!
I have no hesitation to recommend this adapter to the audiophile"s out there. Truly, this is a value for money investment!
Not a very great difference
It works just so fine and gets the job done. I mainly needed this because I keep buying new cables with 4.4mm end and main intent was to get new 4.4mm terminal point while I had lot of stock cables some of which were actually good in quality but had 3.5mm terminal point. So that is where this T-join shaped adapter comes in solves the problem with ease. Especially the T shape helps a lot while connecting the 3.5mm port and while holding thing altogether.
Would recommend this to anyone who wants to try to know how their iem would sound with 4.4mm terminal output.
