A mini Sundara!!

Pros:
1) Very good sub-bass extension
2) Great vocals and crisp treble
3) Great clarity and instrument separation
4) Creates a very immersive sound field though soundstage may not be the widest
5) Great fit with the stock silicone tips
6) Great metallic carry box provided in the package
7) Lot of reports suggest this to be very easy to drive
8) A great value for money planar iem

Cons:
1) Midbass may not be punchy enough especially for bassheads
2) Not very comfortable with the stock tips for long term listening though the fit is great
3) Apart from the stylish metallic carry box, the packaging is too spartan. The carry box makes a better display item rather than a practical accessory.
4) Some of the included tips does not even fit for the iem!!

My Setup
DAP: Hiby R3 Pro Saber through 2.5mm balanced port
Stock cable changed for TRN T2 16 core silver plated 2.5mm balanced cable (only because there is no 2.5mm stock cable option provided by 7hz)
Listening Sources: mp3, wav and flac files stored in Hiby R3 Pro Saber, Tidal and Quobuz

The feedback on this iem by BGGAR and the unbelievable impressions of this by Crinacle made me take a leap of faith and purchase the 7hz timeless. Suffice it is to say that, my trust in these reviewers were not misplaced. For about 6 months now, I have been using a Hifiman Sundara on my desktop audiophile setup and have been loving its sound signature. When sufficiently powered ( I am driving the Sundara currently using the Xduoo XA10 Dac/Amp through the XLR balanced port), Sundara has a full sound signature with tight bass, forward and lush vocals and crisp but non-fatiguing treble. The sound stage is also immersive though not the widest by any means.

Running the 7hz Timeless from the 2.5mm balanced port of the Hiby R3 Pro Saber Dap in high gain reminded me a lot about the sound signature of Sundara. Similar tonality with the sound stage taken down a notch but still retaining its immersive quality. I am not sure what gives the Timeless its very immersive sonic qualities despite it being a closed-back iem. I take it to be an overall result of the combination of its sub-bass extension, forward vocals as well as great instrument separation and clarity. Not to mention the crisp and detailed treble. The width of the sound stage is comparable to something like the Fiio FD3 Pro. One can easily feel the musical notes travelling from extreme left to extreme right and vocals taking the central stage in various tracks. However, this simply beats the FD3 Pro when it comes to sub bass extension, instrument separation as well as overall clarity. The only advantage FD3 Pro has over the Timeless is its heavy mid bass punch and those who don't prefer the Harman target or simply prefer sub bass over mid bass may not consider that an advantage as well. Tracks with a lot of instruments and atmospheric sounds work especially great with this iem.

However, this iem though it works great with all genres of music may not be great for everyone. For example, bass heads may want more mid-bass punch. Similarly, those who are fans of a warm and dark sound signature may not appreciate the crisp, forward and detailed treble on offer here. The comfort of this iem is also not the best even though the fit is great.

A small note on design: Many iems in this price range comes with either colorful resin shells (eg: Thieaudio legacy 4 and Mangird Tea) or with fancy metallic face plates (Tanchjim iems). In contrast, 7hz Timeless comes with a minimalist all black coin like design. I personally like this design. However, you can consider it either a pro or a con depending on your aesthetic taste and preferences.

To conclude, this iem is great for everyone who can live with its slightly less mid-bass punch and find its comfort to be good enough. Of course, using a quality equalizer can help as well!!

P. S: Dear Headphone Zone, price this product appropriately when it comes back in stock. The current price of 21,999 Rs is too steep when this same product is available at The Audio Store for 17,990 Rs.

Hey Harisankar,
Thank you for detailed review. The prices are very competitive but in case there is any other product you feel is priced lower else where you can always drop us a price too high request.

7hz timeless - God of IEM's

Hey everyone out there who are interested to buy an iem within the 20k range.

Like you, I have also checked loads of reviews and YouTube channel to get a clarity on how to use my hard earned money wisely, I used to buy lot of mid segment IEM's and always loved it, but the thought was that I used to own Sony Walkman before the cassette one...the music from that was soo good that I used to dance with the beats and it used to give me lot of emotional connect. But then with mp3 files and players the emotions went away with time.. since then am waiting .

Last week I decided to give a try for a mid premium IEM's and try my luck and shortlisted final a 4000, moon drop area, 1 custom etc . Then in one youtube review the reviewer introduced 7hz timeless as the earphone with move Hands with the song... Wooww if felt.. spend my entire 10 days on review on 7hz and thought to give a try.

Ya, headphone zone, like you all my preferred store for the purchase but did not find 7hz in prefers or in the best selling. With a pinch of salt I did my purchase. Within 2 days the delivery guy reached and I was exited. Did unboxing and had very bad experience as the package was nothing fancy and the case for storing 7hz was bulky and heavy..felt bad... Now comes the real review on the earphone.

First impression with my mi 11 ultra was crap, not at all good and broke my heart.
I ran and took my btr 5 and connected via bluetooth and it sounded good but nothing special... I played with equ different options, well I liked it but did not love it...felt cheated and even though about selling.

But boy I just found a usb c to c cable and connected the btr 5 directly with phone and I smiled at last. After days even when am writing this review am still smiling and am glad I did this purchase.

Don't read the negetive comments it's coz you need real good dap or dac to power this or else it will sound crap

The vocal, treble, the bass oh my god it's a treat.

Am not going the analytical way but yes sound stage is good enough with decent depth to fully enjoy the song. You don't need to be very analytical just get immersed in the song, that all you need to do. Over all if you have 20k don't think for an option just buy it and it will blow your mind.

Note
without good power everything feels very thin and lack emotion...so if you are buying this 7hz make sure you have good power source if you understand what I mean .

Thanks HZ for getting the product to India and hoping to buy a good dap in 30 k range very soon.

Now the hard storage box that came with the 7hz timeless makes sense, you will surely treasure it inside that chest.

Amazing sound

I have started my audiophile journey with kz zst and i still use it.
I have then upgraded to blon bl03 which also sounded good but lacked comfort, next I thought to really upgrade to something next level that was fiio fh3 with fiio btr5.
Fh3 was good sounding iem but I always felt it was not what I expected in that prise range.
Now with my previous purchases in mind it was hard to decide what to buy but boy o boy the 7hz timeless is really next level sounding iem.
It is super clear, great instrumental separation, great sound stage(far better than fh3) , but most important thing is the sound just feels realistic it’s bit hard for me to explain but it’s the best sounding iem i have heard.
I just can’t go back to dynamic iem after listening to the 7hz.

Excellent!!

These are well tuned and the sound is fun and non fatiguing.
Detail retrieval is excellent.
The Bass is so smooth and the treble is sparkly without any sibilance.
The speed of these IEMs is buttery smooth and can be compared to a 120hz mobile screen lol!!
Don't expect them to sound like a typical set having a DD as these are planars which offer a different sound.
I used mostly with my PC and Samsung DAC and these sound awesome.
Several types of eartips came in the box and the earphone case is of very good quality and protective.

Planar Magnetic Drivers

Planar magnetic drivers combine characteristics of several driver types. They employ magnetic fields akin to dynamic and balanced armature drivers. However, planar magnetic drivers, like electrostatic drivers, use a flat, thin diaphragm in contrast to a coil. The planar drivers are known for their quick transient response.

Replaceable Cables

A pair of headphones with a replaceable cable has many benefits, and one of them is if the connecting cable has a problem, it doesn’t mean that you have to buy a new one. If the connecting cable gets pulled or damaged, you can replace it and keep using your good-old headphones or IEMs. This way, your headphones will be protected and will last longer. With the advancements in cable manufacturing, you now get a variety of replacement cables with various termination options, lengths and quality.
