I saw the Zeus review where he hated the ergonomics but I went for it anyways to power my HEDD Headphone and boy is it powerful at 2 W. The ultragain is great but not required as it is better without forcing the sound. i listen on Medium and its more than enough. I use it in my music studio with SPDIF and the sound is awesome on my HEDD phones. Miles better than my Gustard H16 which is itself quite remarkable. The battery is great, the DAC is M17 equivalent, what else can anyone else ask for? Pefection and bravo, Fiio for your best effort and you have succeeded. A true gem and I recommend it highly.

How to get started with FiiO Q7 quickly?
Basic introduction
The FiiO Q7 is a DAC/Amp, whose function is to input digital signals, and output analog PO/LO signals after decoding. It features 4 kinds of common headphone connectors and supports 5 kinds of gain levels. After connecting to a DC power supply, it can enable the fifth Enhanced over-ear headphone gain mode. Both USB and DC power supplies are supported.
Mode switch
There are four decoding modes- USB, Bluetooth, coaxial and optical. Long press the power button on the side to turn on the device. Rotate the golden volume knob to switch modes, single press the knob to enter the corresponding mode. Connect the input signal cable, and connect the headphones or a power amplifier to experience wonderful music.
Settings
Long press the knob to enter the menu; short press to choose; long press the knob to exit the menu or return to the previous page.
How to decode a mobile phone?
(1) Switch the USB charging switch to OFF;
(2) Switch the knob to the USB menu, short press the knob to enter the USB decoding mode;
(3) Use a USB cable to connect the mobile phone to the Q7, and then connect the output port of the Q7 to headphones or speakers.
How to use the Bluetooth mode?
(1) Switch the Q7 to Bluetooth mode;
(2) Press and hold the Play button on the side to enter the pairing state with red and blue lights flashing. In the Bluetooth list on the mobile phone, choose the Q7.
(3) After the Q7 is connected to headphones, the Bluetooth receiving function can be used.
How to enable the Enhanced over-ear headphone mode?
Set the toggle switch at the bottom of the FiiO Q7 to 'DC', and set 'Enable Ultra High Gain' to 'Auto On' in the menu. After being connected to the supplied power adapter, the Q7 will enter DC mode automatically. And the Enhanced over-ear headphone mode will be enabled.
(1) The internal battery of the Q7 will be disabled automatically (not charging or discharging to better protect the battery);
(2) When using an external DC power supply, the gain level will go to the highest. The power supply of the amp part is directly supplied by DC, and the output power is the strongest.
(3) It is recommended to use it with headphones, and pay attention to the volume to avoid sudden volume changes and hearing damage.Note: If it is not set to 'Auto-turn on', you can manually switch to the Ultra High Gain in the menu after plugging in the DC power supply.
How to access the settings menu in FiiO Q7?
【Call up the menu】
If the display is off, please press the power button on the side to wake it up.
(1) Activate menu: While the device powers on and is not on the menu page, hold the volume knob for about 2 seconds.
(2) Exit menu: On the menu page, hold the volume knob for about 2 seconds.
(3) Return to the previous menu step by step: On the menu page, hold the volume knob to return to the previous menu; short press to enter the next menu or confirm.
(4) Confirm menu: Short press the knob on the menu page.
(5) Switch submenus: Rotate the knob on the menu page.
【Introduction to the submenus】
(1) Gain: supports, Low, Medium, High and Over-ear headphone gains. In DC-powered mode, it can enable Ultra High Gain.
(2) Single-ended output: LO or PO
(3) Balanced output: LO or PO
(4) Line-out volume: adjustable or fixed volumes
(5) Max volume: self-defined from 20 to 120 levels, invalid to fixed volume under line-out output
(6) Enable Ultra High Gain: set to auto-on or enable it manually
(7) Filter: original 7 filters of the DAC chip
(8) Dimmer: adjustable brightness 1~5 levels
(9) Screen timeout: adjustable 5-30 seconds
(10) USB mode: UAC1.0- driverless mode; UAC2.0: high bit-rate transmission mode
(11) Language/语言: switch between Chinese and English
(12) Factory reset: clear configuration record; the Q7 will turn off after factory reset

How to use the FiiO Q7 as a USB DAC for a computer?
(1) On the homepage, short press the volume knob to enter the working mode menu. Rotate the knob of the Q7 to USB, and short press the knob to enter the USB decoding mode.
(2) Use a USB cable to connect the Q7 to the computer, and connect the output port of the Q7 to headphones or a speaker.
(3) Choose the corresponding output on the music app. The Q7 will losslessly decode the audio signal transmitted through the computer.
【Windows】
(1) When the Q7 is in UAC 1.0 mode, no driver is required. Just select the Q7 as the default audio output device after connecting it to the computer.
(2) When using the UAC 2.0 mode,Windows supports UAC 2.0 mode: When first connecting, please go to our website to download the USB DAC driver, and install it as the instruction to enable the USB DAC function.
It is recommended to use the v5.30 version. And if you are using a Win7 computer, please use the v4.47 version.

(1) When the Q7 is in UAC 1.0 mode, no driver is required. Just select the Q7 as the default audio output device after connecting it to the computer.
(2) When using the UAC 2.0 mode,Windows supports UAC 2.0 mode: When first connecting, please go to our website to download the USB DAC driver, and install it as the instruction to enable the USB DAC function.
It is recommended to use the v5.30 version. And if you are using a Win7 computer, please use the v4.47 version.
