Initially, I was skeptical about purchasing this, as I am an old-school guy who loves to listen to originals on CDs, Vinyls, and Cassettes. However, this particular product has exceeded my expectations, as I can now easily access many libraries and countless hours of music through it. I called up a headphone guru and all my queries were answered with ease, when you are looking for a good audio product online you won't find good videos on audio types of equipment. The device looks great and sounds sooo crisp. The tech inside is just so well balanced the sound quality is crisp clear and bliss to ears. You will fall on love with the output of sound I paired it with fiio sp3 speaker and the combination is a must have if you are a audiophile. The must have setup.

I find Fiio R7 a very convenient option to listen to high quality music. I play music stored on micro SD card (sometimes i connect my SSD and play music from there). I connect my Meze Neo 99 and Sennheiser HD 650 to R7. For Meze I have the gain setting on either Low or Medium. For HD 650 i need to keep it either high (dial around 85) or Super high (dial around 60). Most of the times I use the Fiio app. I have downloaded Apple Music on R7 and play music on it with max audio quality set to hi res. In all the cases, the quality of music is decent. There is good resolution. I also use R7 as a digital source and feed the signal into chord mojo2 through optical toslink. On the same headphones, this gives best quality music. Very musical. However it is not as convenient as powering R7 and listening to music when you are short on time. I have been trying to find a coax interconnect between R7 and Chord Mojo2, but its not easily available. Depending on how much free time I have, I choose one of the two options.
I am very grateful to Headphone Zone to make these brands available in India and that at reasonable prices. About 10 - 15 years back, it was very difficult to purchase these brands in India. Headphone Zone service levels are exemplary. I have ordered may audio gadgets from them and in some cases I have received the courier on the next day. Thanks to Headphone zone, I have restarted listening to music at high quality after 10 years. Keep it up and expand your collection to more brands and models.

Received this unit via HPZ and this time it was lightening fast delivery and my last order bitter experience was compensated
About the product its good value for money all in one unit and I am using its Line Out mode most of the time via my Power Amp and Speakers and the internal DAC chip works as a wonder !! Suddenly my 4 way tower started delivering melodies treble clear vocals and midrange and bass get tightened with my Active Sub routed through main power amp.
IEM with 4.5 mm balanced output was soothing to the ears and XLR may be more sweet. I don’t phones with XLR hence can’t comment
Android version very user friendly setting up the unit only 10 minutes with some firmware update at first switch on .
The remote sold separately with this unit is must have for the couch listeners like me from Tower speakers
All inputs connect so easily with built in interface checked USB SD card Coax optical all works like a breeze and of course the basic streamer !!!
All DSD mode gives the feeling like listening all incoming PCM signal like vinyl Analog output
I am using this basically for my CDS via Coax and Apple music for lossless/ Hi res music
The phono preamp input with RIIA norms is only missing part in this unit else every thing is so brilliant
Led changing options as per bit streams is also one of the cool feature usually available in all Fiio products
Best product as of now unless you want to spend a bomb on exclusive Daps / Dacs separately for very high end Amp/ Speakers / Headphones and studio type environments

I bought a Marshall stanmore 2 this month, is good, but was not satisfied, wanted more! Did some research, came across r7. In fact r7 was always under my radar.
R7 with SP3 is a deadly combo. Perfect in all sense, so happy with my purchase. I don't know how to describe in terms of audio technicalities. But need to listen to to understand what I am saying. No wonder it's having so much positive reviews. Overall build quality and packaging was excellent. Will say apple like.

I purchased this as I wanted something without batteries. As I'm a "Nominal Audiophile", I don't want to comment on the audio quality.
But I can say this: The build quality and packaging are superb. If the same care was taken with the internal design and construction, then... WOW! (See the FiiO official disassembly video on YouTube)
There are a few irritants though... The unit I have rebooted by itself a couple of times. I'm putting it down to instability of Android. I was unable to get it to connect with AptX to my MDR-1000X... it defaulted to SBC. It did connect with AptX-HD with my other headphones... so ok. The plastic screen is a disappointment. It should have been glass. And where is my damn remote?
Now the price... is it expensive! At around ₹ 50,000/-, it will sell like hot-cakes.
Finally, this is really a unique device with a unique form-factor. I'm waiting for the next iteration of this (which has been announced by FiiO, at a price of around 1,200 USD).

FiiO has developed an optimised audio circuit design for the R7. Following the decoding stage, the signal is fed to discreet opamps under a fully balanced configuration, passing through an I/V stage, low-pass filters, and a gain stage. Then, onto the dual THX AAA 788+ (THX - Tomlinson Holman’s eXperiment/AAA (Achromatic Audio Amplifier) module that does the final bit of amplification to power your headphones. The FiiO R7 can output more than 3W to headphones rated at 32Ω in impedance, making it among the most potent all-in-one streaming device. To cater to different gears, you can switch between 5 levels of gain which allows matching with sensitive IEMs or large over-ear headphones that demand ample power. At the highest gain level with 32Ω load, the R7 can output as much as 3650mW in each channel on Balanced output.

DUAL POWER SUPPLY DESIGN FOR CLEAN AND SILENT BACKGROUND
Electricity is the root of great sound, and the engineers at FiiO have incorporated DC/AC dual power supply design for you to get the ultimate experience. Inside the R7 is a 30W switching power supply. The AC input circuit employs filtering and purification with a large-capacity choke and dedicated high-voltage capacitors. The DC input circuit is of a ±12V high-voltage power supply design. Both power circuits contribute to the robustness of the power supply system to better give that dynamic sound to your music. The FiiO R7 can also be used with external DC power supplies, such as the FiiO PL50 linear power supply or other power supplies giving your sound an even purer, blacker background making the musical details pop.

Thanks to the included protective covers, you don't have to compromise on maintaining good looks on your great-sounding unit. The side honeycomb vents serve as both heat dissipators and as a futuristic touch; A recessed rear panel means more elegant wire connections and less clutter. The seamless WiFi/Bluetooth antenna packs many capabilities in a simple square inch. The customizable RGB lights give your desktop setup some extra personality. Want to listen to your music without having to get up? You can go with the FiiO Music app or a Bluetooth remote control, allowing you to control your music from a distance and conveniently handle various operations. Be truly unshackled when listening.

NUMEROUS INPUTS & OUTPUTS FOR EASY CONNECTIVITY AND SCALABILITY
The FiiO R7 features connectivity far beyond what you would expect from a device with which you can quickly and easily build a desktop HiFi system with the R7 as the heart of it. The front panel has 6.35mm (SE), 4-pin XLR & 4.4mm Balanced headphone outputs. The R7 gets you covered with the standard and widely used headphone outputs. The rear panel is where the magic lies. It hosts a microSD card slot which supports up to 2TB if you like to play offline files on the go. It has Single-Ended RCA and 3-pin XLR Balanced lineouts. Surprisingly it also has a USB host interface that supports external USB devices like decoders, hard disks, keyboards, and expansion hubs. It also offers Optical & Coaxial IN/OUT and an Ethernet port for wired connection to a network. The USB Type-C port (USB 3.0) on the R7 supports data transfer, DP output mode, USB DAC, and USB HOST-related functions. The R7 has a Bluetooth and WiFi antenna embedded into the rear panel with a power switch allowing you to switch between DC or AC power supply seamlessly.

For the brand-new R7 FiiO has incorporated an ESS Sabre ES9068AS DAC chip in its circuitry. It is a Hi-Res DAC chip capable of decoding up to 384kHz/32bit PCM (Pulse Code Modulation), Native DSD256 (Direct Stream Digital), and 8X MQA decoding (Master Quality Authenticated). OPTIMISED AUDIO CIRCUIT DESIGN FUSED WITH THX AMPLIFICATION TECHNOLOGY & 5 LEVEL GAIN CONTROL
FiiO has developed an optimised audio circuit design for the R7. Following the decoding stage, the signal is fed to discreet opamps under a fully balanced configuration, passing through an I/V stage, low-pass filters, and a gain stage. Then, onto the dual THX AAA 788+ (THX - Tomlinson Holman’s eXperiment/AAA (Achromatic Audio Amplifier) module that does the final bit of amplification to power your headphones. The FiiO R7 can output more than 3W to headphones rated at 32Ω in impedance, making it among the most potent all-in-one streaming device. To cater to different gears, you can switch between 5 levels of gain which allows matching with sensitive IEMs or large over-ear headphones that demand ample power. At the highest gain level with 32Ω load, the R7 can output as much as 3650mW in each channel on Balanced output.

The FiiO R7 is unique in that it's easy to use and offers numerous ways to listen to music.
