It features an inherent design that works best in quiet settings or when paired with noise-cancelling software.

Wood Technology

The choice of wood is an inherently difficult one. The rich colors of walnut require the use of air drying, a long and expensive procedure. The process of shaping just a single pair of earcups takes up to 8 hours. The whole process of sanding, lacquering, and finishing lasts 45 days. The wooden components are carefully inspected and no flaws are permitted to reach the final assembly.

High-Quality and Luxury In Every Element

Apart from wood, the 99 Classics also use cast zinc and manganese spring steel. The headband ensures even pressure for long listening sessions. The ear pads and head pads are made of PU leather, while the ear cups are walnut wood. Nuts and bolts are used to assemble each component, making 99 Classics completely serviceable. The entire headphone is crafted from only premium materials without the use of glue or plastic.

Light Weight Design

The build quality of the Meze 99 Classics is excellent throughout. The 99 Classics is a lightweight headphone and does not feel cheap or like shortcuts have been taken in designing them. The metal headband is reinforced with gold-coloured metal support connecting the bars, which also holds the elastic for the headband.

Each Meze 99 Classics takes almost 45 days before being released. The wood is harvested from mature trees that have reached the end of their life cycle, ensuring no harm to the environment while giving you that rich, natural sound. To further enhance the colours, the wood goes through extensive air drying and shaping by hand and CNC machining that takes almost 8 hours. It then goes through sanding, lacquering, finishing, and careful inspection. After all the process, the headphone is then finally assembled. The Meze 99 Classics are packaged with a detachable Kevlar OFC cable for lossless signal transmission, which also features a mic and remote.

These were my first pair of serious Headphones. I would listen to every genre track on them. It's gorgeous to look at, and sounds better than anything else in the segment. They're timeless. I hope to hand them to my kids someday.
