First few days I did not notice any improvement in my hearing quality,and I play a lot of mixed type music like classical, jazz,soft rock,country and so on.this item needs proper run in I think as after about 7 days of cont.running for 5 to 6 hours a day now I observe a good improvement like a clear misds and lows on even low volumes. Definitely the crossover to my different speakers more clean.the vocals come more natural or call it neutral. Even my 30 year old collection of cassettes come more vibrant. Near little AIO source. The DAC is super clean and the amp has ample power for my hd800s. It even drives my he6-se v2 to loud enough volume but at max volume.
It also has quite a low output impedance so it has no problem with iems too. Clean sound with pitch black background noise.
Didn't even get into the bluetooth receiver mode which is an icing on the cake.

I purchased Topping DX3 Pro+ and after listening to it for last few days I can safely say this has been a great purchase. I am using it with Grado 80x, Moondrop aria and desktop speakers too and result is fantastic. This really shines on voice and nuanced music that I could not hear otherwise. I love bass, but with time I am appreciating the sound that get pushed down on overdose of bass. I have same songs with and without DX3 Pro+ and have been pleasantly surprised on how beautiful the songs sounded with DX3 Pro+. I am beginner audiophile and I can clearly hear music much better. Like the construction, ability to connect over Bluetooth, the soundstage. If you are looking for DAC + Amp, you can hardly go wrong with this one.

I purchased this dac with great expectations after going through so much positive reviews. But I got dissopointed. Because I have expected more but it didn't deliver it.
I have previously used Smsl with akm chipset.
SMSL Sound is great compared Topping DX3 PRO.
Bluetooth in Topping is good quality. Which is useful for casual listening.
I have used with optical and bluetooth input both sound equally well.
But I am now vote for akm used dac only. I will recommend to get SMSL which is delivering outstanding sound.
Any one want to get the Topping DX3 PRO if you like it, please let me know. I wish to sell my DAC.
Bought this in the recent sale. Coming from a iFi Zen DAC v2 and Zen AIR CAN, this might be considered a sidegrade and not an upgrade depending on how one sees it. Some of my review is going to end up being a comparison.
Connectivity wise tested with USB and Bluetooth. Both work without problems. I am using LDAC codec paired to a Linux desktop. My ears cannot hear the difference between USB and Bluetooth, so Bluetooth it is for daily use. I don't care about only having a 3.5 mm jack. I use IEMs and DT770/1990 with this which works just fine. My only nitpick would be that this uses a 15V DC instead of something more standard like 12V. Replacing power adapter if ever required would have been more easier.
Primary motivation for buying this was to try something which is considered to measure well while also being considered neutral. Topping seems to get described as boring, analytical, clinical or lifeless even. Well a lot of people describe Hexa in the same vein, which I love so decided to get this. The other contender was K7 BT but it is more expensive and I don't think I am going to need the amounts of power K7 has or cared about balanced.
Finally coming to sound. Most people describe iFi as warm sounding and Topping as neutral/clinical. If I were to compare them as one would compare headphones, I would say DX3 Pro+ has more treble extension and air. The sound feels crisp and lively to my ears in comparison to Zen DAC. Think the resolution is better on this compared to the Zen DAC. Due to the perceived difference in treble, I think people describe Zen DAC as warm/dark while this as more bright/clinical. DX3 Pro+ reproduces whole spectrum of music as is without coloration as it should be. If it matters, 99% of my music library is extreme metal.
If you want your DAC/AMP to color your music like tubes, look elsewhere. All this being said, it very well might be that I might not be able to tell the difference in a blind test. YMMV.
I hope this lasts long. All in all, definitely happy with the purchase and consider this an upgrade. Definitely recommend. Thanks HPZ for making this available.

I generally don't go by non-consumer reviews, most of them are trash, but this product holds its ground for being a excellent dac-amp in small transportable size with more than decent powerful amp.
I tried this with my Focal Celeste & Clear OG, Sennheiser HD660S2, Hifiman Ananda, Theiaudio Monark MK2, Sennheiser ie600, Campfire Andromeda 2020, Audeze LCD1.
Excellent pairing with dynamic driver iems and hps, I can say.
Soundstage is one drawback other than absence of 6.35 output (I don't mind 4.4 output not provided), Bluetooth pairing works fine though I didn't use much.
If I have to summarise it's performance, then imho pairing with HD660S2, Celeste is better than my Burson Playmate 2 costing 3-4 times.

Simple Awesome. Always found difficult to listen to Apple streaming Music High resolution tracks through my legacy Yamaha RX V440 Amp & Mission M73i Floor standards & Jamo E1.1 Sub.
With Topping DX3 Pro + is a missing link between latest digital technolgies + high quality legacy systems.
3.5 mm Out put + BlueTooth is final icing on cake. Can't ask for more.

I have used Zen Dac, Earmen Tramp, fiio q3, K5 pro and fiio KA3, Xduoo Basic.
Using DX3Pro+ along with Audio Technica R70x and 7Hz timeless was flawless with good sound. Under low gain setting there was no hiss in the IEM. Major disappointment for me was the absence of 6.3mm jack on front. Who gives 3.5mm as only option in a desktop DAC AMP?
On my initial impressions I did not find any sound quality difference from K5 pro. Will update if I find any,.

This Dac Amp is not mediocre at all, but finest in Sound stage, clarity, instrument separation. It sounds so natural and neutral that you feel music is playing in open air, not through any headphone.
It's not "boring neutral ". Not harsh, not fatiguing but Shining...
These qualities of Dx3 pro+ are easily noticed in Headphones like Hifiman Deva. Closed back Headphones like Neumann NDH 20 sounds even more spacious. clarity Depth and Sound stage improved.
Conclusion - Best Dac-Amp In Rs 20,000 In this category.
If somebody has balanced Headphones or planning to buy balanced headphone, they should buy it's Big Brother "Topping DX 5"
Other wise, Dx3 pro+ is the best for most of the Single ended headphone except power Hungry headphones.
Also to be noted, that it does not have bass boost Option like Zen Dac and Xduoo Xd05plus, also Dx3 pro+ is not warm sounding.. So bassheads may or may not like it.
Posting this review after using the DX3 pro+ for more than 4 months now. The DAC shines in the mids and highs with detailed and clear sound and excellent tonal separation. The Vocals are lifelike (it's a pleasure to listen to acoustic music with this DAC ). Have found it a bit lacking in the lows, but the overall presentation is noteworthy.
I am paring it with Rotel A8 Integrated Amplifier/5654 Tube based preamp + Self assembled Power Amplifier and Micca RB42 Bookshelf Speakers. For input I am using MacBook/Iphone.
The Bluetooth connectivity is great and there is no noticeable degradation in sound quality as compared to USB. Yet to test the SPDIF and TOSLINK options.

I bought this on sale to be used with Meze 99 classics and Sony Walkman. The sound quality is average, and it can drive the Meze 99 classics comfortably without any issues, however, the sound quality is very average i.e. the DAC .
After using this now I realised that there were better options than this one like using Schiit modi(which I own and sounds great when compared to this) as a DAC and a separate headphone amp from Schiit.
Playing my music through Spotify from my smartphone and listening through HD 6XX good expansive sound but still lacks some punch may be because of my source. Haven't tried looseless files yet as soon as I do will update .
