The AK4499EX has exceptional characteristics for decoding high-resolution, packing a rich tone and details. With the introduction of wireless technology, the audio industry has grown by leaps and bounds. Earlier products had wireless functionality, but they did not sound great. TOPPING engineers considered this aspect and have designed the E70 Velvet to incorporate a QCC5125 chipset enabling Bluetooth 5.1 support. The E70 Velvet has the certification of Hi-Res Audio Wireless & LDAC and supports Bluetooth codecs like LDAC (24bit96kHz), aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX LL, aptX, AAC, and SBC. To get even better sound quality from Bluetooth, TOPPING engineers abandoned the built-in DAC of QCC5125 while connecting its digital signal to AK4499EX to decode. For you to use the E70 Velvet in wired mode, "TOPPING" has incorporated the newest XMOS XU316 chipset. The USB hardware based on the newest XMOS XU316 and Thesycon custom driver (applicable to Windows, other systems are plug-and-play) makes the E70 Velvet stable and reliable. With; USB IN E70 Velvet supports up to 44.1kHz-768kHz/16bit-32bit PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) and Native DSD64-DSD512 (Direct Stream Digital). It also supports DSD(DoP) DSD64-DSD256 (DSD Over PCM). DOUBLES-UP AS A PREAMPLIFIER FUSED WITH A 12V TRIGGER INTERFACE
In addition to the DAC mode with a fixed output level, the E70 Velvet also has a DAC + preamplifier mode. In this mode, you can control the output volume from -99dB to 0dB by the knob or remote control. This design provides greater convenience when connected to a power amplifier or monitor speakers. The TOPPING E70 Velvet also hosts a 12V Trigger interface. The 12V Trigger interface on the E70 Velvet can be configured for active control (Trigger out) or passive control (Trigger in). With only one easy-to-obtain 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, the E70 Velvet can be turned on and off synchronously with other devices equipped with a 12V Trigger interface. With this setup, you can connect E70 Velvet to the TOPPING L70 professional-grade headphone amplifier and form your desktop audio chain. TOPPING has also kept the THD+N of the E70 Velvet lower than 0.00006% (A-weighted), enabling the music to be accurate in every detail.
EQUIPPED WITH A REMOTE WITH SELECTABLE OUTPUTS AND AUTO ON/OFF FUNCTIONALITY, MAKING IT IDEAL FOR THE L70
TOPPING E70 Velvet has a balanced XLR output and single-ended RCA output. You can choose "XLR only", "RCA only", or "XLR+RCA" output for different applications. Additionally, TOPPING has added the Auto On/Off functionality to the E70 Velvet, which will turn ON and set to the input where the signal is valid automatically. When E70 Velvet's selection is not "valid" for 1 minute, E70 Velvet will turn OFF automatically. TOPPING was on the spree of designing the E70 Velvet to be the most versatile device and has included a fully functional remote for you to have; control over the device from the comfort of your couch. The E70 Velvet has USB, Coaxial, Optical, USB, and Bluetooth, as inputs and selectable RCA & XLR outputs. The engineers at TOPPING understood that in addition to the more versatile XLR 4V and RCA 2V outputs, there are also extensive needs for XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V. When XLR 4V and RCA 2V are selected, more devices can be adapted when XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V are enabled; the performance improves by leaps and bounds with these functionalities. TOPPING E70 Velvet has a balanced XLR output and single-ended RCA output. You can choose "XLR only", "RCA only", or "XLR+RCA" output for different applications. Additionally, TOPPING has added the Auto On/Off functionality to the E70 Velvet, which will turn ON and set to the input where the signal is valid automatically. When E70 Velvet's selection is not "valid" for 1 minute, E70 Velvet will turn OFF automatically. TOPPING was on the spree of designing the E70 Velvet to be the most versatile device and has included a fully functional remote for you to have; control over the device from the comfort of your couch. The E70 Velvet has USB, Coaxial, Optical, USB, and Bluetooth, as inputs and selectable RCA & XLR outputs. The engineers at TOPPING understood that in addition to the more versatile XLR 4V and RCA 2V outputs, there are also extensive needs for XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V. When XLR 4V and RCA 2V are selected, more devices can be adapted when XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V are enabled; the performance improves by leaps and bounds with these functionalities. To get you started TOPPING has also designed their versatile headphone amplifier, the L70, to be a perfect match for the E70 Velvet. The TOPPING L70 is suitable for almost all kinds of headphones. The TOPPING "E70 Velvet" and "L70" can be switched ON and OFF through the 12V Trigger interface. Also, the L70 can be synchronised with the automatic or manual ON/OFF of the E70 Velvet.

Added the dac between macbook and active nearfield speakers. Very revealing. Definitely a large improvement over mac's inbuilt dac. Well rounded bass, warmth in the highs. Excellent staging and decent instrument separation and imaging. I had initially got the Topping Dx3+. It wasn't a bad dac but found it a little light on bass and tinny sound. So returned it and got the Velvet. Very happy with the purchase.
