HiBy - R2 II (Gen 2)

Great DAP, suitable for everyone. You can stream wirelessly, play wirelessly (over buds) or by a USB DAC or through the internal DAC.
As for the DAC, it seems better than my DAC with the Synaptics CX1993 chip.

It comes with a screen protector and clear case bundled, and has a protector already applied on the front and back glass surfaces.

Playback was easily 10 hours plus, took about 30 minutes to charge full. The Volume knob is a bit fiddly (it moves a little between the ratcheting) but otherwise is solid. Buttons work well, but the placement will take a while for you to get used to.

As my first dap i found this amazing but tyere are still some thing to be ironed out

Can be hard to navigate through the library at times

Luckily these flaws arent related to harware and are mainly software or optimisation based so can be worked out with a firmware update

Since this is the cheapest dac on the market this has raised the bar of value for money

According to me this a direct pic for any new audiophile who just wants to dip their toes before jumping in

If you want to buy this dont think twice just get it (coming from a guy who very pick about fube detaiks and almost never stops someone from thinking twice)

I usually don't buy products from websites as they make me nervous, but this time I really wanted a Digital Audio Player (DAP). I couldn't find one of my choice on Amazon, so I stumbled upon Headphone Zone. At first, I was a bit apprehensive, but now I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

I'm impressed by their efforts in keeping me updated about my product through emails at every step. They delivered the product to me in just 2 days, although the delivery time may vary for others.
Regarding the DAP itself, it fits perfectly for my needs, and if you haven't used an MP3 player before, it won't disappoint you.

Here are some key points about the DAP:

Lightweight: It weighs around 70 grams and fits perfectly in my hand. The only minor drawback is that I wish the screen could be a little bit bigger, but it's not a deal breaker.

Battery Life: The DAP has a 1000mAh battery, providing approximately 15 hours of playtime, which is sufficient for my needs.
Design and Build: The device has a well-made, smooth plastic frame, and it has a glass back. The overall design is appealing.

Connectivity: The DAP comes with Bluetooth 5.0 technology, allowing for seamless wireless connection. It also has Wi-Fi connectivity 2.4ghz, enabling easy access to 2 online music streaming services and firmware updates.

In conclusion, my ordering experience with Headphone Zone has been excellent, and I highly recommend their services. The DAP I purchased has met my expectations, offering a lightweight design, good battery life, reliable Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a well-built construction.

This review is after 2 months of moderate usage, and this is my experience.

The sound quality produced by this DAP is amazing, especially for someone who has always relied on smartphones for music consumption. This is my very first hifi device and it is far better than I expected.

As a beginner audiophile, it really opened up the soundstage of music. Currently, I am re-listening to all my favorite tracks and discovering a lot of subtler tones that were unnoticeable. In a way, it has made me appreciate music even more.

Pros-
1. The musical quality is really impressive, hiby's equalizer has a lot of customizations.
2. Analog music control buttons are very tactile and responsive, especially the volume knob.
3. During my test,the battery lasted for almost 10 hrs at 35% volume (but not the advertised 13+) for the basic set of earphones.
4. Importing music through a web server is a plus.
5. Easily handles large collections of music.
6. USB Dac feature works great over type-c

Cons-
1. The screen is a little bit finicky to navigate due to small size. It might be even harder for people with bigger hands.
2. Book reader feature is a gimmick. No audiobooks, only text-based formats are supported (but no one is going to read on this tiny screen anyway).
3. There is no Tidal or Quobuz support in India.
4. Bluetooth range is very limited, sound easily breaks even if there are even minor obstructions.
5. The device has to be closer to the router, for wifi signal reception.

Bugs : While charging in the 'power-off' state, charging animation is stuck at 25% even when the device is fully charged. And when importing music through the web server function, the language defaults to Chinese, don't know why it changes, even if the system language is set.

Overall, the device is definitely a value for money. Thanks to Raghav and his team for careful packaging and timely delivery (and thanks for that surprise gift too).

This is my first HiRes DAP. So I don't much about the sound signature or other specs. Out of the box the DAP had few scratches on the back side. I don't mind those. DAP works well, so far no glitches or any software related issues. Sound quality is good. It was delivered one day earlier, that was a good thing from Headphone zone.
