iBasso - DC03

Hello Raghav,
I was initially satisfied with the output. But I was so unhappy as it started delivering its output. The indicator light provided on DAC is not blinking. I need replacement of the product ASAP

This is my first product of audiophile grade. Before buying DC03 I got all the relevant details from HeadphoneZone gurus. I have hooked up DC03 with my Lenovo T470 Thinkpad and OnePlus 7T Pro and oh boy this has really changed the way my earphones and headphones sound.I could now understand what wide soundstage means and also because of the built-in amp all the frequency are evenly boosted up. I am presently using DC03 with ATH-M50x and KZ ZSN Pro (also both bought from Headphone Zone) and they are sounding more fuller and richer. Instrumenet separation is much more clear and evident after using DC03. Even the older recordings are sounding more beautiful. To be frank words can't justify this product. One has to listen/experience it to understand better.

I am using this combination: Dolby Atmos Music Mode(OnePlus 7T Pro) + EQ tweaking(10 band EQ with 7T Pro) + Audio Technica ATH-M50x + Gaana (Plus/Premium Subscription) and now each of the songs are sounding way more beautiful. I guess since DC03 has dual DAC and that might be the reaon it's so powerful and this doesn't eat up much battery as well. As I said before words can't justify this listening experience. One can easily understand the difference the moment they start using this DAC. Totally recommended 👍🤘

Time to say goodbye to my phone's 3.5mm jack. They put so much clarity to your music. Installation was slightly tricky. Had to fiddle/reboot my phone a couple of times to get UAPP to recognize them. Windoz refuses to recognize it so laptop is no go for me. Best sound pairing was with Ibasso IT00 (rich bass). If you are treble fan, go for KZ Z10 pro. For anyone wishing to get into the super expensive world of audiophile, this is a very cheap option to get started.

This little thing works great. While the consumer grade in-ears worked fine, the difference is notable on a headphone. While most of the time this will be connected to a PC, I'm sharing my observations with my OnePlus 7T.

Test setup 1:
Phone: OnePlus 7T
Headphone: Edifier W820BT (connected via wires)
DAC: iBasso DC03
Music Player: HiByMusic

This player can gain direct access to this DAC, hence audio quality is unaltered. And those flacs sound fantastic with all the details you need to hear.
Drawback of this setup - Can't use equalizer

Test Setup 2:
Same hardware
Music Player: Spotify (Highest quality available)
Equalizer: PowerAmp Equalizer
Bass Gain: 60%
Treble Gain: 15%

Audio from Spotify + PowerAmp Equalizer sounds good as well. I don't know what the DC03 is doing, but those bass hits hard now! It's like I have a brand new pair of some Bass heavy headphones.

Note for Android Users - Audio routed through Android's own system resamples everything to 48kHz. This should not affect Spotify which should be either 44.1kHz or 48kHz, but choose your Music Player for your files wisely.

I come from using the dac which came with my faithful Pixel 2 and haven't been able to notice that much of a difference.
I have been using this dac (for almost a week now) with my open back HiFiMan HE-4XX and closed back Hyperx Cloud Alpha. Both of them are pretty good sounding pair of cans in my opinion, at least for their cost. So coming back to the part where this dac was supposed to make a huge difference (at least its price suggests that it should have), it hasn't for me. A genuine question I want to ask my fellow users of this dac is what exactly should I be looking for?
Other than that, it seems like a well built product
As for the service provided by headphonezone, no disappointments there. It was my first purchase and I hope to keep coming back.

Very tiny item, slightly getting warm that means something is working inside obliviously battery consumption increased when connected to mobile. I am totally satisfied with this price range.

I purchased this dac with kz zsn pro X. Can totally hear the difference using Apple music hi res audio. Instruments and vocals are sharp and the bass is right although treble being sharp can be tuned in eq settings. Better music and instrument seperation.
Would suggest to go for this if you're into hi res audio and ibasso also supports mic as well unlike shangling dacs.

iBasso - DC03

Using the DC03 along with my Blon BL-03; I am able to hear a lil bit more detail, can hear improvements in bass and 50%-60% volume with the DC03 is as loud as 80-90% without it.

Fantastic product.

If you've never used a small portable dac amp combo before, this will make a difference to your ears and with some eq changes you'll quite like them. Giving it 3 stars because they are good for their price range, feel solid and sturdy and can decode PCM up to 32Bit/384kHz which covers pretty much everything in Tidal. No problem in driving my Hidizs Mermaid MS4s and drove them with ease. These are more like you'll need if you want to play HiFi audio with bare minimum IEM setup but don't expect out of the world experience with them. I have a couple of Sonata HD IIs as well and there's not much difference between them. Also it adds some coloration to a point where its easily distinguishable something iBasso could have controlled or maybe it was a choice. All in all they're okay, I always keep it in my office bag in case I forget to lug my gear around.

Oh and THESE DACs DO NOT WORK WITH ANY SAMSUNG DEVICES (some claim they got it to work with OTGs and stuff but if you're planning to drive your IEMs with a Samsung source then DO NOT BUY) otherwise they work with pretty much everything.

Using this Dac/ Amp definitely makes a noticeable difference and that too this is when I checked it with a basic earphones. The difference that I found is primarily in Bass and treble definition, especially the bass quality increases both in terms of volume and definition, treble definition also increases slightly and midrange is neither boosted nor suppressed. I also used it it with full sized headphones (Sony MDR 7506) it sounded pretty good. I somehow feel that the dac performs much better while using with IEM's rather than headphones. The one thing that I noticed is that the Dac gets warm while using it for sometime and then it gets normal.

This tiny DAC enhances sounds to next level and worth every penny you spent on this DAC. Only con is we can't control volume or skip track using inline buttons and it heats up on long hours usage..

A nifty little device with a powerful and open sound. I have Dx220 and Cayin N3 Pro. Still, I enjoyed the sound from DC03. Able to drive Sundaras adequately. Dual DAC in USB dongle dac is a first. Worthy buy. Recommended.

This needs a burn-in for sure. Initially, i could not hear any more detail than my mobile phone than an amplified sound. I thought of putting it back on sale on HPZ. But after about 2 weeks, I noticed a stark difference in sound quality. Now, on back and forth comparison, plugging my KZ IEM directly to the phone sounded like listening behind a curtain. So i decided to keep ii. It is worth the money.

Yes, it's meant for IEMs but it has enough power to drive my AKG 361 and Y50. The difference in sound between my phone's DAC (pixel 3a XL) and ibasso DC03 is quite evident. And once you get hooked onto using this DAC, there's no going back. Thank you headphone zone!

I am a beginner audiophile (or interested to be). I could see the quality of the music increased very well after plugging the DAC. Playing around. I will post detailed update later
