Bluetooth 5.2 processing is handled by Qualcomm’s top-tier QCC5144 module, with its 32-bit, quad-core architecture and low power draw. This revolutionary device is the first to support Hi-Res 96kHz/24bits with LDAC, LHDC and Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound codecs, delivering an unparalleled wireless listening experience. Qualcomm’s 24-bit aptX HD and aptX Adaptive formats are also covered, offering sample rates of up to 48kHz and 96kHz, with the additional benefit of QHS (Qualcomm High Speed) providing an extra 300kbps of bandwidth. Other supported codecs include aptX Low Latency, regular aptX, AAC and SBC.



Traditionally, true wireless earbuds rely on the SoC (System on a Chip) solution to integrate the requisite tech into a tiny space. This compromises sound quality. The iFi Audio GO pod is noticeably different. Each critical stage is designed separately and optimised individually to ensure excellent audio quality – Bluetooth, DAC and amplification. To that end, the GO Pod incorporates two Cirrus Logic MasterHIFI chips – one in the left pod, the other in the right. This 32-bit hi-res DAC chip is dedicated to single-channel digital-to-analogue signal conversion in the GO Pod’s circuit design, combining with a jitter-eradicating precision clock to deliver ultra-low distortion and high dynamic range – one of the key reasons why the GO Pod unlocks better sound quality than true wireless earbuds.



iFi Audio has leveraged another Qualcomm technology in the GO Pod - TrueWireless Mirroring. This tech allows both the left and right pods to receive Bluetooth signals, but only the one with the robust connection acts as the receiver while the other mirrors the connected pod. If the listener moves position and the connectivity to the mirroring pod becomes stronger, they swap over so the mirroring pod becomes the receiver without interrupting the audio signal. Similarly, if the receiving pod is removed from the listener’s ear, the other pod becomes the receiver, ensuring a seamless wireless stereo experience. To minimise pre-echos and ringing artefacts, the DAC is designed with proprietary digital interpolation filters that support five digital filter responses. These user-selectable settings offer a degree of personal sonic tailoring, with options including low group delay with pseudo-linear phase and a fast or slow roll-off.



The iFi Audio engineering team has incorporated hardware-based analogue volume control into the GO Pod. This eliminates the need for software-based volume controls on connected devices, which can compromise audio resolution. Instead, adjusting the volume on the device controls the volume level in the DAC directly. The GO Pod also provides a balanced output signal to each earpiece, ensuring low distortion and a silent background with high-sensitivity IEMs. With ample power output and voltage, the GO Pod can effortlessly drive any connected IEM without quickly draining the battery. It auto-detects the IEM's impedance and adjusts power accordingly, with four preset settings for optimal performance.



iFi Audio's design team has incorporated high-quality discrete components into the GO Pod's circuitry, including TDK C0G capacitors and Taiyo Yuden and Murata inductors. These components contribute to exceptional sound quality by offering low ESR and high linearity. The GO Pod is designed to be durable and lightweight, weighing only 12g per pod. The ergonomically shaped ear loops provide a comfortable fit, while the pods themselves are water- and sweat-resistant (IPX5-rated), making them suitable for workouts or rainy conditions. merging the boundaries between wired & wireless hi-res audio.
The unit comes with mmcx & 2 pin connector making it compatible with most iems.
Found best synergy with UM Mest mkii as a portable carry.

Pros - LDAC codec making upto almost 90% of wired connection performance.
Cons - PRICE.cheaper or mid range iems are not going to get much performance boost.
Competetion - UTWS5 making worth at 1/3 price unless you own TOTL iems.

TWS nearer the gods

Until about 2 days ago, I was completely satisfied using my FiiO UTWS 5s as my wireless daily driver.

Anyone who has used them will know their overall quality (of course based on which IEMs you attach to them) as well as the few small issues that they present. Regardless, I have been satisfied with them.

Then I got the new ifi go pods. And wow these are a whole different level. The clarity is stunning - ifi's claims about how they're different from the crowd prove to be true.

The soundstage is wide enough to be comfortable and the bass is punchy without being overpowering.

Of course the quality of the sound once again depends on which IEMs you pair them with. So far I have tried with the Final A4000, the Moondrop Starfield, and the ThieAudio Legacy 5, as I bide my time and save up to purchase either the Westone Audio Mach 60, Meze Advar, or Rai Penta.

The reason I single these out is that these are the IEM combos that are being offered by ifi in Europe, and while the A4000s are doing decently - making me consider purchasing a higher-end Final IEM, the fit of the ifi go pods is slightly finicky.

The were unbearable with the ThieAudios and wouldn't go all around my ear. I don't think this is an issue with my ear as much as that the design of the go pods makes them less ideal for all IEMs.

I would advise going and trying them out at a HZ showroom, or purchasing them with one of the recommended IEMs to ensure a good and comfortable fit. The way they are designed mean they will not work with everything.

Another small gripe is the size of the box, which can be a bit of a hassle, and is definitely not pocketable.

Finally, the only other minor gripe: there is no dedicated app which is greatly disappointing. I hope ifi is able to rectify this from the software end.

Otherwise, these demerits don't justify reducing the score of these excellent TWS adaptors for IEMs. The Bluetooth connection is reliable and the quality is excellent over LDAC.

They will serve you better than any other TWS in ears (Sony, Bose, Jabra, etc included) unless you are a die-hard about noise cancelling (something you can mitigate by getting IEMs with a good seal).

Long story short: Buy them!

May improve your IEMs frequency response curve.

The best feature by far has been automatic impedance matching along with balanced amplification. After I first tried this with Moondrop Blessing 3, I thought there was a bass boost enabled by default. On another IEM, the mids were boosted. Turns out, the auto impedance matching function can change the FR on IEMs with variable impedance curve. This has effectively fixed the low end on the Blessing 3. The rest is 5/5: you get your money's worth. If you have multiple high end IEMs, this is the way to go.
