I've heard a lot about DACs, from Facebook ads to YouTube reviews. Almost everyone says that a DAC can enhance your music listening experience, and now I understand what they mean. From lossless Hi-Res Music to MP3s, I notice a difference. It might not always be a huge difference, but it's there. Even if you don't hear it, you'll definitely notice the volume level after using a DAC.
Now, let's talk about the KZ AM01. I was a bit skeptical about buying this model. I compared it with other DACs in a similar price range and decided to go with this one because, in this price bracket, they all use the same DAC chip, the CX31993. After purchasing it, I believe I made the right decision. It's good—very good for its price range. The only downside I've encountered is the lack of a microphone pass-through. I'm using an IEM without a microphone, and it's quite annoying to remove the DAC to answer calls. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

It is a DAC with AMP......... "DAC" A Digital Matrix Audio data decoder........ Decode into Analogue Audio Signal and "AMP" means A stabilizer who responsible for stabilizing signal to power ratio on the demand........
If you are looking for....... To improve your audio interface driver quality then......., you just have to change or upgrade your audio driver.......... Because that's not the job of a DAC & AMP...........
Then what will they do........ They just decode your digital sound Matrix data into electronic analogue sound signal....... And just stabilize the electronic analogue signal with the help of AMP.......
If some of or many of you who like to listening your audio files at 60% or below 50% of volume but you can't enjoy........, you feel that there is a very low bass or can't able to experience the details of your audio files........ And you just frustrated and struggling with the software based solution like Equalizer or just simply you increased your volume upto 100% or maybe more higher........ And finally you just screwed yourself because of...... absent of bass....... dealing with too much treble and compromising the vocal details of your favourite artist...........
Then Hardware based dedicated DAC & AMP will help you but remember one thing is that, they'll never ever gonna going to improve your audio driver devices.........
It will only help you to maintaining your volume upto 60% or below.......... Without losing bass and vocal clarity of your favourite artist............
But at the same if your audio interface driver are not good or Not well tuned in proper way then only God will help you............

Hmmm....... It's Good not bad at all....... Good for on the go plug and play......... And phone calls.......
I don't know why "Headphone Zone" mentioned that this product have no support for Headset "Microphone" pass-through........ Because In my unit they works......
On my Android phone and also on my windows computer system....... they support microphone of my headsets.........
But it's support only single channel upto 24bit microphone pass through........ As compared to my system, My PC support dual channel microphone pass through..........
Maybe they have some compatibility issue with some brands or systems..... but in my case it works with my devices.......
Like, I have Dell creator series system and Motorola Android phone.........
Now let's discuss about it's performance.......
Hmmm........ It is really Good for normal user.......
If you are professional then your own DAC AMP collection are much better than this.........
If you listening your audio files on YouTube Jiosaavn Wynk Spotify Gaana...... basically I'm trying to say..... if you have only access to lossy Audio files like MP3 or AAC...... Then this product is definitely an upgrade.... From your in general phone or laptops...... inbuilt DAC AMP..........
But if you have access to lossless audio files...... Like Apple Music..... Or you have your own high resolution audio files collection like FLAC WAV or your own RAW records........ then this is not for you........
Because In terms of decoding it's perform well upto 32bit........ but in terms of AMP this product struggling with in amplification......... signal to power ratio....... Sometime they work properly and sometime they just screwed up themself..........
Upto 24bit/96kHz it's performance really good 😊
Upto 32bit/44.1kHz they trying perform nicely..... But some time...... With some of audio files they struggling too........
Hmmm........ Simply if you're struggling with no audio output Jack 🥹😅 then go for that because this is very compact and easy to handle...........
If you have a flagship grade phone ( Ohhhh flagship phone without 3.5mm jack 🥱😁) or professional grade computer system....... Then this product not for you...... Because your system inbuilt DAC AMP are far better than this......... Go for another brand option who specialised in making of that kind of product..........!!!
But if you are thinking that a DAC AMP will improve your audio interface driver or improve your audio quality......... Then just.......... And 🤯🤧😵 in that condition you have to need to talk with an expert..........
Just remember your old days...... When many of you faced an electric voltage fluctuation issues in your home or village.......
Then what you or your parents do for the solution...... Just buy an automatic or manual stabilizer and install it into the main power input source of your house....... And just chill............!! What the stabilizer do for your home appliances or for your electronic gadgets ????
The same things a DAC AMP will do for your audio interface driver and for your digital sound files..........!!!!

I am not an audiophile and I don't have an iem. I use a gaming headphone called razer blackshark v2 X. So I can't really say about sound quality. I also have a ddhifi and headphone zone DAC and amp but I can't really tell any difference in sound quality. But I can tell this that build quality of KZ - AM01 is way better than ddhifi and headphone zone DAC and amp. And yeah that's it . Thank you for asking headphone zone.

I've had these for a month now and they've left me very impressed. They work well with my iems and earbuds as well and these have MAX97220 independent amplifier chip, enables them to drive some of my power hungry earbuds easily while providing a totally dark background. The benefits to the soundstage and sound has been covered in the review i left earlier. I also dug up this video of Andy from Dongle Madness - he rates these very highly. I might get a few more to gift to friends.

Got this USB C to 3.5mm DAC dongle to plug in my V Moda Crossfade LP2. This dongle works great on all my decides. Thankfully iPhone 15 Plus is USB C now so its direct plug and play as well.

Excellent so far... Except for once playback wasn't working in YouTube or Spotify but after I reinserted the dac everything was fine. It happened only once so it's not an issue. Been listening for 2 days now. The quality is superb. 10 out of 10. I have an old Audio technical M20(not x version). It's perfect now. Btw the mobile I'm using it with is Vivo T2 pro (which doesn't have a headphones out)... I also have a Fiio X1 player.. The soundquality I'd say is a tiny bit better or same as that... So the difference is massive. This is an excellent find I'd say. I meant this dac thing on the whole which turns the smartphone to a music listening player. Further doing a research about upgrading the dac,headphone,etc... hope someone suggests me a even better deal. Coz I'm into it now... Delivery by headphone zone was Swift and professional.

Few months ago I bought a pair of IEM which I was using with my phone which is good but not reaching its full potential as an IEM should sound. Later I came across this and bought it. At first, I was sceptical about buying this one as it is a new product and only few reviews are available. But after using the product for two days, I have to admit that it exceeded my expectations. Here are my speculations about KZ - AM01:
1. It has the same DAC chip as of the famous Abigail Pro which is the CX31993 chip (written in the packaging). I have never used the Abigail Pro, but this dac is quite good considering the price point. It can play Hi-Res audio as I streamed Hi-Res audio files from Tidal using USB audio player pro in my android phone, and the music coming out of this dac is much more clearer and crispier compared to the built-in dac of the phone. I tested it with IEMs like Moondrop chu II and Final E3000. The dongle dac can drive them effortlessly. I have also used Audiotechnica ATH-M50X with this dac and the experience was quite good. My daily driver is ifi zen dac v2, but I have to admit that this tiny little piece of a dongle dac did not make me miss the zen dac, which is very surprising to me.
2. Along with a dac this product also has an independent amplifier chip which is a really good thing to have considering the price.
3. It has 1 year of warranty while the Abigail Pro only has 3 months of warranty.
4. The build quality is good, doesn't feel cheap.
5. I have used this dac with my laptop too, and there also it did quite well.
Overall, the KZ AM01 is a superb dongle dac with great value for money. And I will like to mention that if anyone finds there is not much of a difference between the sound coming out of this dac and the built-in dac then the problem is not in this dac but the headphone or IEM that is being used, as a dac can never make a bad quality headphone sound good, on the other hand, even if someone is using an average quality dac a good headphone will always sound good.

Bought this after having issues with a similar DAC I've bought from a different store, I was sceptical at first because of the low cost, as I doubted that if it can provide a good audiophile experience, So I thought to figure that out by myself, immediately ordered this, and got delivered to my office. The entire 22 people in my office had their audiophile moment with this DAC and my KZ ZSN Pro paired with apple music.

I’m getting hissing sound every time I try to use it with my Mac and iPhone. Although the sound quality and instrument separation is far better than the built in dac on mac.
