1 X DD + 4 X BA + 2 X EST +
1 X Bone Conduction Drivers
Not 1, 2 or 3 - This IEM has 4 driver types and is appropriately called a Quadbrid. A lot of people may be mistaken to think this is a bit of a gimmick, but once you give the Unique Melody MEST MKII a listen, it becomes clear that their secret sauce is what makes these amongst the highest-rated IEMs of all time.
PIEZOELECTRIC BONE CONDUCTION TECHNOLOGY FOR EFFICIENT SOUND TRANSMISSION
Unique Melody MEST MKII features technology that drastically improves the sensitivity and response range of the earphones. MEST MKII applies bone conduction technology and transmits a specific frequency range by vibrating the shells' inner parts. What this means is that sound will bypass the nozzles and directly deliver to your inner ears by contacting your skull skin. This is possible with a double-sided piezoelectric bone conduction driver placed between two supporting plates of the earphone. The vibration board is located in the middle of the driver and is front- and back-coated with ceramic. This allows the bone conduction driver to have a larger contacting area with the shells, improving the transmission efficiency and sensitivity.
QUADBRID DRIVER ARRAY SET UP GIVING YOU A WIDE FREQUENCY RESPONSE
Unique Melody MEST MKII houses eight drivers per side in a unique quadbrid driver configuration. The MEST MKII features a dynamic driver unit, four balanced armature driver units, two electrostatic driver units and a dual-sided bone conduction driver. The dynamic driver provides a natural-sounding bass, and the balanced armature drivers have the advantage in mid and treble resolution and sound warm. The electrostatic drivers enable an ultra-high treble extension. The new additional dual-sided bone conduction system provides a full-range refinement of the sound, making your music sound life-like. Thanks to the highly responsive driver configuration, the frequency response of the MEST MKII is from 20Hz to as high as 70kHz, allowing for a clean sound transmission across the frequency spectrum.
COMES WITH HIGH-PURITY OCC COPPER CABLE AND SEDNAEARFIT EAR TIPS
The bundle for the Unique Melody MEST MKII includes a premium PVC-coated cable. It is constructed with four 24 AWG OCC copper material cores, offering premium performance and superior audio signal transfer between the pair. For protection against noise and static interference, it has a flexible PVC covering that helps in reducing distortion. You can easily adjust the Y-split using a metal chin slider and Y-splitter. There is a 3.5mm plug at the end of the cord. SednaEarfit Xelastec ear tips, which are of excellent quality and adapt to body heat to fit the ear canal better, are also included with MEST MKII. These tips are a perfect addition to the Unique Melody MEST MKII and are constructed of medical-grade TPE material, making them pleasant.
ERGONOMIC SINGLE-PIECE CARBON FIBRE SHELL WITH METAL VENTS
The Unique Melody MEST MKII has been meticulously crafted with user comfort in perception. The efficiency of the bone conduction drivers, which depends on fitting coherence and skin contact, is also influenced by design decisions. High-quality carbon fibre and gold foil are used to build the earpieces for the MEST MKII. The earbuds have an ergonomic shell design, which reduces their size and weight. The shell becomes lighter and smaller as a result. The MEST MKII also has updated metal vents that enable greater control of the air pressure inside the cavity, improving driver unit performance.

First of all kudos to HPZ for bringing the much awaited UMM MK II to India.
I have been listening to this little gem for the last couple of days and here are my early (&subjective) thoughts! I have been waiting for the UMM MK II eagerly and when I got a call from HPZ executive that they have few in stock, I immediately ordered.
Setting a context, this is written by a self proclaimed IEM junkie! I own (and listen to) a wide range of entry level to mid-fi, chi-fi to ToTL in-ears. To me the MK IIs fall under the ToTL bucket and it manages to leave many other well known IEMs behind in terms of overall performance. My collection includes the CA Andro 2020, Vision Ears EVE 20, the mighty Solaris 2020 to name a few.
Where these MK IIs excel is in its masterful sound staging and imaging capability. Feed it a good source and the UMM MK2 will captivate with highly resolving and engaging sound that is excellent across all frequency ranges. Great bass ( &sub bass) response, lively mid-range & ethereal treble response that is suitable for any genre of music.
The way Unique Melody has achieved such a highly coherent tuning with a quad array driver set-up (1DD, 4 BA, 2EST, 1 BC) is highly commendable.
Packaging and contents :9/10 (Azla Xelastec ear tips are nice bonus)
IEM build and cable quality : 9/10
Sound isolation : 9/10 (for me the Xelastec worked best)
Drive-ability : 9/10 (super easy, low impedance and high sensitivity)
Sound staging and imaging : 9/10
Macro dynamics : 9/10
Micro dynamics(detail retrieval) : 9/10
Musicality : 8.5/10
Overall sound quality : 9/10
Gear(s) used: Fiio M11 DAP with hi-res, iPhone with hi-res music paired with AQ DF Red dac/amp, Luxury & Precision W2 dac/amp, Ultrasone Naos dac/amp, ALO Pilot doc/amp dongles. Best thing here is that the MKIIs sounded excellent with almost all of them incl the ALO Pilot that has the tendency to run bit hot in the treble region. Best pairing was the Ultrasone Naos that managed to get a lot of body and weight out of the MKIIs sound.
If you are looking for a ToTL IEM that will work magic with most of your music collection, then look no further than the Unique Melody Mest MKII. If you are in the market for a mid-fi budget, then I suggest you save up and get the UMM MKII !! It is totally worth the accolades it is getting from all over.
Overall the Unique Melody Best MKII checks almost all the boxes required to qualify as the end game headphone.
To me Unique Melody Mest MK II is best one yet and the one to beat. Truly outstanding in ear monitors for the price (at any price range actually) !
Delighted you are loving your purchase, hope it was a comfortable shopping experience & thanks for taking the time out to write such a detailed review which we are sure is going to be help others making their purchase decision easier. Cheers & keep the music playing buddy!
The IEMS are really really great. The resolution is mind blowing. you can hear every single detail, pinpoint every single instrument. i personally feel that this challenges your ears and trains them to hear things which normally one would miss of many of the other IEMS. I am really glad that i went with this rather then some other IEMS like CA andromeda. While it can work with normal phones and mp3 files, the more quality files one feeds and better the sources/ dacs /amps the more these will shine. so please start saving and buy theses.
Thank you for the great review. Delighted to know you are loving your purchase. Hope it was a comfortable shopping experience. Cheers!
Being an average consumer and no audiophile, my impressions are based purely upon how fun it is to listen to an IEM.
My comparison of the Mest MKII is to a pair of Shure 846 that I own. I feel the sound-stage to be a lot more closer on the MKII, the bass much more full-bodied, but not dampening the mids and highs in any way. Mids and highs are excellent, to say the least by a non-audiophile like me. I found the Sedna Xelastic tips to fit me the best. Wish UM would have packed ML,L sizes for these as well, since, for me, any large tips work out.
Now, about the bone conduction thingy..it's hard to describe in words. If it's a matter of "listening in" with other IEMs, with the Mest MKII, it's like "listening out".
It feels like the performance is happening right "inside" your brain, rather than sound waves flowing in from an audio device. I'm still burning these in, paired to a Luxury&Precision
W2. Thank you HPZ for a great buying experience as always. Satisfied for now...till my next IEM itch :)
Thank you for the detailed review & awesome ratings!

My search for great iem ends here. The music is soo melodious now that I can hear every string of music instruments. Thank you so much headphonezone team for your great service .

Thank you for the awesome ratings Pardeep!
Warning! Long review!
I am an average consumer that adores music. I listen to various genre however largely my library is made up of Rock, Metal, Grunge, Alternative, Classical, EDM, Pop, Vocal trance, Indie (HIndi), and a little bit of jazz. I got into Audiophile as a hobby. I prefer slightly warm-balanced sound signature.
Why I bought these?
I am currently using Thieaudio Clairvoyance (Daily driver - all rounder except EDM) and Unique Melody Mext (EDM, Alternative & Pop). UM MEXT isn't able to meet my library needs, its table is definitely not its strong suit. After much consideration I needed an All rounder and I found that in MEST MK2.
Fit & Size:
Perfect! Smaller than both clairvoyance and MEXT, I am absolutely stunned at the engineering that went into cramming so many drivers into such a small shell. I got the best fit through included Azla tips, I did tip roll through a fair number of them. It is very important and I cannot stress this enough that that bone conduction driver needs a very good fit and seal to flex its muscles properly.
Bass: Plenty low end, its not muddy, its powerful, bone conduction especially shines here you can tell there is a rumble added but its not very apparent in new songs only well known songs. Bass also has good extension and decay where needed. I am absolutely into love with the bass guitar, kick drums and cello (lower notes). 9/10.
Mids: MEST MK2 have a U-sound signature, mids are a little recessed compared to bass and treble but not lack there of. Both Male and female vocals come across detailed and organic and you can catch even the slightest nuances in the voice (thanks to being very sensitive and detailed IEMs). 8.5/10
Treble: Those EST drivers are definitely tuned right for this one. Clairs EST drivers are lacking in this regard. The violin and guitar notes have bite and impact that was missing on both Clair and MEXT. Very good extensions specially classic rocks and Metals definitely benefits from it with all the riffs. I prefer warm sound but MEST is an exception that my treble sensitive ears are willing to accept. Treble also provides a much needed air and resolution and those live performances by Eagle, Aerosmith and Metallica just come alive. 9/10
Soundstage: This is where I think, MEST mk2 lacks a little behind MEXT, but only slightly in width. It beats MEXT in terms of height and depth. As I said earlier you will get a truly awe-inspiring experience of a truly holographic image if you pair it with a good DAC and get a deep snug fit. I had to go a size down with Azla tips than my usual. Instrument separation is good as well with great imaging you can tell instrument playing clearly at various depth and height. I am very happy with soundstage.
I mainly use these with my iPhone and Earmen Sparrow and M11 plus (AKM edition) DAP but I can't wait to pair them with Mojo 2.
go ahead and buy these! They are a great all rounder, however, I will use MEXT with electro, EDM and bass heavy pop (Billie Eilish anyone?). These are my Endgame IEM. (for now :P)
Hi there, we are so happy you took out time and elaborately reviewed the product with a comparison. We are sure this will help our customers to make an even better and informed decision.
Lives up to its amazing reputation and goes beyond it!
Fit was a tiny bit uncomfortable but you will forget about it when completely immersed in the MK2's sound.
I used the "Talk to a Headphone Guru" feature to finally decide on the IEM and all I have to say that they are very helpful and provide exemplary service.
