Fix your setup

Wired gets you closer to the music

Bluetooth compresses sound - meaning you don’t hear the full song, and what your favourite artist intended. For those who choose music, here’s how to fix that.

Why choose wired for music?

Bluetooth is good for calls, podcasts and workouts.
But for music - especially for those actually listening to music - it doesn’t cut it.
Music is packed with information : layers of carefully crafted sound.

Wireless eats your music

Bluetooth - even newer codecs - cannot transmit high bitrates, which Hi-Res audio needs. Sending signals through wired preserves the original bitrate, meaning you hear everything the artist intended.

Three easy steps to Hi-Res music

The good news is, it’s easy to get to audio nirvana. The better news: It’s not expensive.

Step 1 - Turn on lossless audio on your streaming platform

In India, Spotify Platinum and Apple Music offer lossless music. This ensures you provide your gear the highest possible audio quality to begin with.

You can turn on the option here:

Step 2 - Add an external DAC

A digital-to-analog convertor is what turns a sound file into that sweet music. Your phone has one, but it’s not good enough for high-res audio. An external one gives a clearer signal, less noise, and more headroom.

The simplest DACs come as a USB-C to stereo dongle that attaches to your phone.

We have built this one specifically for new audiophiles: bringing you technology worth 10x the price in a sleek, portable format.

Headphone Zone X ddHiFi - Hi-Res DAC

We have many more DACs ranging from portable, to powerful desktop ones.

Step 3 - Get a wired IEM or headphone

Here’s where it all comes together! Listen to your favourite song like you’ve never heard it before, and as the artist originally intended.

Wired gear has several options, styles, and price ranges. Here are some of our favourite picks.

“We’re here to help people rediscover their love for music. And to us, the best way to do that is by going wired. Is that a little more inconvenient than wireless? No doubt. But are they the better choice for those who choose music? Also no doubt.
We’ve worked hard to design wired products that make it more convenient, at an incredibly affordable price - and we’re sure audiophiles will hear the difference.”

Once they went wired, they didn’t go back

I am never going back.

I bought this on a lark, just recently having discovered how I could indeed appreciate the finer points of music, and thought this might be a good beginning. I was earlier using Oneplus bluetooth earphones for voice and music. After experiencing these however, which BTW plugged seamlessly into my phone (Samsung S23 FE) and using an old pair of wired earphones that were lying around, I am never going back. The sound quality is just too good! I've picked up a little phone-purse-thingie and using that to cart the phone around, so I can keep listening to the excellent sound.

The detail is unbelievable.

I am amazed after switching from my wireless earbuds to KZ Castor pro the detail in vocals and instruments is unbelievable with party head bass. I was surprised to see such a major difference when compare to my earpods. Truly wired IEM's breaks the deal and I am glad that I took my step ahead to my audiophile journey.

A whole new experience.

This is the first time I have ever switched back from TWS earbuds(I have Lypertek Z7) to a traditional wired setup. Also since I have an android phone I purchared ddHifi DAC cable and the combination has taken my music listening to a whole different level. I listen to rock and metal music 99% of the time and it's a whole new experience. Though the bass is a little flat for this genre it is sufficient and ample for EDM and other electronic music. Overall the DAC and KZ ZSN Pro 2 cost me 3k combined, its a great value for money package for the sound it delivers.

The sound quality is too good.

Tangzu Wan'er SG Studio is the best IEM with good price, the sound quality is too good. Last Two - Three years I've been using the wireless earphone, I'm not satisfied with their sound quality, now i switched again to wired (Tangzu Wan'er S G Studio I'm satisfied with the sound quality they produce. Good job hope you'll create more good quality products and safe for all the music lovers out there.

The difference was day and night.

I upgraded from my 4-year-old Apple AirPods (2nd Gen), and the difference was simply day and night. The sound is incredibly clear, with excellent vocals, superb instrument separation, and tight, controlled bass. Listening to Apple Music Lossless and Hi-Res Lossless has been a completely new experience. The build quality is outstanding. The CNC metal shells feel premium, and the included carrying pouch is one of the nicest accessories I've received with any audio product.

One of the best investments I've made.

I've been using the Kiwi Ears Cadenza for a while now, and I have to say it's one of the best investments I've made in music. Coming from a background of using both Bluetooth and wired earphones, the difference in sound quality is astounding. The clarity, detail, and overall listening experience have truly impressed me. As someone who's rediscovering music through better gear, the Cadenza has been a game-changer. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get into high-quality audio without breaking the bank.

Blown away as soon as I plugged in.

Like many others, I too am a victim of the 3.5 mm jack removal movement. I had tried out the wireless options with budget mainstream options like Oneplus Bullets Z2 and Realme buds air 2, but these still have a lot to improve before they can catch up with their wired counterparts. I have tried using cheap usb type C to 3.5 mm jack adapters but those are too noisy and produces a constant distortion. Finally after months of research, I finally decided to go with this Dongle DAC with my old Skullcandy Ink'd 2 and I was blown away by the output as soon as I plugged in. This is the cheapest remedy for 3.5 mm jack removal from phones. I would upgrade my earphones to soundmagic e11c in future and review that as well.

I'm really happy with the purchase.

I mostly prefer wired earphones over the wireless ones. Since, I upgraded to a phone which doesn't have 3.5 mm jack the RHA MA 390 didn't use to sound good woth after market 3.5 dongles I tried earlier. I even bought a Pixel dongle but it was not that great either. This is one of the best purchase and after almost 1.5 years I'm getting great output via my earphone. It almost same as my Galaxy Buds 2 pro. I may be exaggerating but it still sounds way better than any wirless counterpart which is priced is 3 times than the combo of this (3.5 mm dongle+RHA MA 390).
I'm really happy with the purchase.

The experience of going wired is absolutely dramatic.

KZ ZST X is my first pair of wired Hi-Fi IEMs. Prior to this I did use a pair of wireless Hi-Fi headphones and I should say the experience of going wired is absolutely dramatic. I rarely find myself going back to my wireless pairs anymore. From Metro boomin to Steven Wilson this pairs does not sweat when paired with the Moondrop Click that I picked up along. The sound profile sounded rich and energetic to me with a wide sound stage.I got a really good fit and passive noise isolation on the medium ear tips, though your mileage might vary.

I ordered 4 more for my friends.

I have explored multiple tws including sony wf 1000 and bose, but for the first time I have tried IEM was little hesitant to go back to wired...but I could feel the difference right from the first time I have used it, all my favourite music started sounding more brilliant and the smallest of the sounds were so crisp and clear, I was waiting for the stock and ordered 4 more for my friends

A conversation starter.

Absolutely worth every rupees, the sound is very good and crisp and those design is definitely a conversation starter.
I used to think there is not much of a difference then I used my old TWS and wired earphones, the difference is noticable, I don't think I'll ever go back to any TWS

WHO WE ARE

For People Who Choose Music

Most people are happy if a song plays. Some people care about how it sounds. They notice when something's off, and they care enough to do something about it. They want to understand why a song moves them.

We built Headphone Zone for them. Since 2011, we've been curating the world's finest headphones for India. We don't carry everything. Just what we've listened to and believe in. The best, not the biggest.

Put on a great pair of headphones. Play a song you've heard a hundred times. And suddenly you hear something you've never heard before. A backing vocal buried in the mix. A guitar riff you never noticed. The room the song was recorded in.

We've spent 15 years helping people find that moment. It happens with the songs you already love. Heard again, for the first time.
