Flat Sound Signature

A Flat sound signature offers an accurate presentation of sounds without adding colour to your music. Simply put, this sound signature presents audio without boosting any frequencies. As a result, it’s the most natural-sounding signature and provides the closest reproduction of how a track was recorded and produced. Due to their accurate sound reproduction, flat sound signature headphones are preferred by Music professionals, Sound Engineers and used in professional studios for mixing and mastering music tracks and are also loved by audiophiles for immersive listening sessions. You can listen to Classical, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Folk & possibly every genre in music.

Ideal for Audiophiles

You can expect them to present a refined listening experience. The audio quality exhibited by these headphones is a beautiful mix of musicality, technical brilliance and high precision.

These headphones deliver a spacious and open soundstage with utmost clarity and detail. Delve into pure sonic bliss with these headphones!

For Studio & Professionals

As the name implies, anything branded as studio headphones is designed especially for a studio setting with a particular focus on accuracy and transparency for monitoring and mixing.

These headphones present an accurate image of your music than ordinary headphones, allowing you to hear every nuance and aspect of your music. Therefore, having a good set of studio headphones is just as important as any other gear in your studio.

These headphones provide a fresh perspective to that mix you’ve spent hours mastering and recording, essentially giving you another set of ears.

Ideal for
Indoor Use

Open-Back Design

Headphones with an open-back design, allow air to pass through the earcups. This means that Open-Backs do not block any noise from around you, as closed-backs do, and music being heard will also leak outside to people around you. So they can only be heard in a quiet environment.

However, Open-back headphones do sound more natural and open. Open-back headphones create a feeling of space, presenting audio as if you are sitting at a live concert. Audiophiles swear by open-back headphones, and they sound quite different to closed-backs.

These headphones are perfect for critical listening sessions, mixing and mastering music. They have an accurate soundstage presentation and precise imaging.

Needs Amplification

Headphones and IEMs require a certain level of power to sound their best and work at their full potential. When your headphones or IEMs are underpowered, they can sound thin or muffled.

Amplifiers are required to provide adequate power to your headphone or IEMs to perform at their best. Simply put, amplifiers allow a weak audio signal to be boosted to a powerful one.

To put it into perspective, devices such as your phones and laptops come with an amplifier, but they offer very limited output power. This output may not be sufficient to power headphones and IEMs to shine at their best. This is where a dedicated amplifier is required to deliver adequate power to hear your music in all its glory.

Replaceable Cables

A pair of headphones with a replaceable cable has many benefits, and one of them is if the connecting cable has a problem, it doesn’t mean that you have to buy a new one. If the connecting cable gets pulled or damaged, you can replace it and keep using your good-old headphones or IEMs. This way, your headphones will be protected and will last longer. With the advancements in cable manufacturing, you now get a variety of replacement cables with various termination options, lengths and quality.

The DT900 Pro X is an upgrade from the legendary DT990 pro. For one, it's got a much better low end, with a more accurate representation of the bass. The build quality receives an upgrade, and they are much more comfortable. The detachable cables are a welcome addition too. But the biggest reason to upgrade? - The bass.

These headphones are developed and produced in Heilbronn, Germany, maintaining the high quality of the Beyerdynamic brand. The DT 900 PRO X is a must-have headphone for professionals who want to work on their music always and everywhere and experience the best sound in studio quality.

The Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X features the newly developed STELLAR.45 sound transducer that delivers the trusted Beyerdynamic sound. This transducer works in harmony with a neodymium ring magnet as well as the copper-clad high-tech wire. With these implemented, the trade-off between electrical conductivity and the weight of the wire is unique and delivers revealing clarity. This redesign, in combination with the newly developed three-layer speaker diaphragm featuring an integrated damping layer, has created a highly efficient driver system that performs superbly on all playback devices.

The innovative membrane structure of the new Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X controls the axial motion of the voice coil and ensures that it remains securely positioned in the magnet gap even during high oscillations. Another benefit of this is the vast and natural frequency response. The fast response of the transducer and the detailed transient response, produced by the low coil weight, create a sound that is always reliable and distortion-free even at high sound pressure levels.

The Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X has been engineered to offer unparalleled compatibility with various devices like audio interfaces, laptops, tablets or mobile phones. This is made possible with the inclusion of the new high-performance STELLAR.45 driver, which offers an impedance of 48 ohms and reproduces sound at volume and power familiar to levels of studio-quality on all playback devices. More flexibility is felt with the included detachable mini-XLR cable, which is thoughtful and allows for upgradability. The wide range of compatibility offered by the new DT 900 PRO X allows you to unleash your creativity anytime, anywhere.

The new Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X showcases a minimal and essential design. Thanks to its robust design and high-quality materials utilised, these headphones distinguish themselves by providing maximum durability. The metal headband, GRP components, the robust mini-XLR connector and resistant cables equip you for every professional application. The sturdy spring steel headband design assures a secure fit and ensures durability. The supple velour ear pads are soft to the touch and guarantee superior isolation. The headband ergonomically adapts to the shape of your head with the aid of memory foam and, like the ear pads, can be replaced if required.

The Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X ships with much-needed accessories and an easy to store drawstring bag, making it easy to carry the headphones. There is one drawstring bag included with two connecting cables - one with 3-meter length and another of a shorter 1.8-meter length. These cables feature a 3.5mm stereo jack for easy connectivity and the headphones also ship with an additional 1/4” adapter to connect them to devices with a balanced connection. This is thoughtful and reduces the need to buy extra accessories.

The new Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X headphones have been designed for daily use in challenging conditions. This is why they are handmade in Heilbronn, Germany, using premium quality materials. If required, nearly all the headphones’ components can be replaced, turning these headphones into an investment that makes sense for every creator. The Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X is a well-spent investment for every creator, with a focus on sustainability and durability.

Just What I Required for Film Editing

I’m a Bolly-Wood Film Editor, and was looking for a new pair of headphones for video editing. Wanted something which was accurate while editing spoken dialgies but also packed a good punch while editing music. Basically a great all rounder. Was first looking at Beyerdynamic 990 Pro@250 Ohms. But then on furthur research landed on the DT 900 PROX. The 48 Ohms impedence was a major factor. As a result I can get the ‘intended’ audio from my Mac Studio or on a MacBook Pro on the road.

Audio Quality - Coming to the sound quality, it is simply fantastic. ‘Spacious’ is the word I’ll use along with ‘balanced’. These pair are very balanced indeed. Accurate for critical listening, but also very enjoyable while working with music (especially lossless tracks on Apple Music).

Comfort - 10/10. What can I say, these are simply the best set of headphoens I’ve ever adorned as far as comfort is concerned. I can, and am wearing them for 12+hours (which is a typical work day) without any fatigue whatsoever. Some reviews had stated that the ‘clamping force is high, but I really dont think so. These are darn comfortable.

Durability/Build Quality - Again, one of my major reaosns to go for Beyerdyanmic was the build quality. I really do intend to use these headphones for 12-15 years. Keeping that in mind, the detachable cable along with replacable ear cups and head bands go a long way in ensuring the longivity of the product. Build quality too is absolutely top-notch. They are about 8k+ over the tried and tested DT 770 and 990, but trust me, it’s well worth paying extra, especially if ‘longetivity’ is your concern.

These are my first Beyerdynamics. Had tried my brothers (Music Composer) DT 770 Pro and was impressed. But these are definately better, without a shadow of a doubt. If you are looking for a Beyerdynamic (770 or 990), then just go ahead and spend a bit more extra, you will not regret it at all.

Thanks a lot for your detailed and genuine feedback, we're glad that you have such positive thoughts about the product and we'll share your thoughts with the brand as well. It'll also help our fellow customers to make the right choice!

An excellent headphone!

An excellent headphone!
I bought this as an alternative and variation to Sennheiser and really like it! the sound is detailed and crips yet not very sharp like the previous models. Bass is good but not thumping. overall a very good set for mixing and gaming. For music, maybe its not the easiest to listen to. The soundstage is not as wide as 990 or sundara but everything else is better than both. Could have been 25k for value for money. YouTube video placeholder

Hi Irfan Intekhab,
We are so happy you took out time & elaborately reviewed the product with a comparison. We are sure this will help our customers to make an even better & informed decision.

About Beyerdynamic - DT 900 PRO X

Just a great pair of headphones that deliver great Studio grade sound.
• As a video editor, I can tell right away that they are gonna be really useful as they will help us make detailed edits according to the audio.
• Because of the low impedance I can just plug them to my phone to refrence the audio, or just for listening to songs.
• The wide soundstage makes make the sound rich and full.
• The Bass is nicely round and tight with minimum leakage in the Mid and High frequencies.
• The frequencies are well seperated and help you concentrate on one particular instrument or sound.
• They are also good for working on Vocals, eg. a podcast or an interview as you can listen to what you have actually recorded and make corrections accordingly.
• The tone or timber of the instruments that you hear is on point almost can really understand what an instrument does or should sound like.
• Last and one of the most important points...put them on for 15mins, and you forget you're wearing headphones.
