The iFi Audio Pro iESL is engineered to be your electrostatic headset’s best friend. It can drive the headsets of all great electrostatic headphone brands by delivering the needed extra-high-tension voltage needed to energise the electrostatic plates in them. For those who love their dynamic headphones, the amp has something for these too. Enjoy a whole new level of smoothness and airiness with this device.

The Pro iESL uses custom transformers with hand-wound, multi-section windings with both vertical and horizontal sectioning and pinstripe permalloy cores. This offers a wide bandwidth of < 5Hz to > 60kHz (-3dB). You also get clear audio with low distortion. This device also uses the complex, costly and superior Vishay MELF resistors. These give you an optimal power rating and pulse load capability.

To keep any electronic noise from bleeding into the headset, the Pro iESL has a Bias Voltage Generator. It charges the device to full before cutting off the power from the mains. Thus, when you listen to your favourite headphone, you are listening to it via the battery (and not the mains).

The special capacitors from Germany have a 1000volt rating and very high insulation resistance of around 35,000,000 kiloOhm. This reduces the current leakage and in turn, the self-discharge time to 30%. Thus, you get a 100,000 seconds or 27 hours worth of battery power on a single charge.
