  • The Long Story

    Connect to All

Connect up to 8 devices wirelessly with Bluetooth and stream high-quality audio from your favourite streaming apps like Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify and iTunes. Qualcomm aptX and AAC lets you enjoy CD-quality audio.

    Take it Anywhere

The xCAN has been created to look good at home or even when on-the-go. Its metallic design and smooth contours make it look stylish. An 8-hour battery life lets you use it for long. When the battery goes down, simply charge it back with the USB Type-C cable.

    Balance is Good

No matter the impedance, the xCan is able to amplify headphones up to 600Ω with the dual-mono headphone amplifier. It features 1000mW power per channel. A balanced in/out as well as 2.5mm balanced headphone jack lets you connect to a variety of sources as well as any headphone/ earphone.

    S-Balance? Even Better

The exclusive S-Balanced (single-ended compatible balanced) technology gives you great performance with reduced crosstalk and low distortion. With balanced wiring and the special 3.5mm output, you can get the benefits of a balanced connection even when using a single-ended headphone.

    Let your Music Come Alive

Music has never been more enjoyable with iFi’s new cool innovations. The XBassⅡ® is an analogue bass correction system which corrects the headphone’s bass response and delivers a more natural sound to the mid frequencies. The 3D+® system adds a 3-dimensional feel to your music giving you the feeling that the artist is performing right in front of you.

    The Best of Both Worlds

The Cyberdrive headphone amplifier stage is a new and important circuit design used only in iFi’s ‘x-series’. This circuit lets you digitally control the analogue system. A W990VST digitally controlled stepped attenuator and OV4627 ultra-low noise FET input Op-Amp give you an awesome sound quality.

    Now No More Jitters

Say goodbye to jitters with the built-in Global Master Timing from AMR. This represents a total ‘out of the box’ systematic digital solution that solves the digital jitter problem once and for all.

Powerful with great build and fantastic analogue domain boosts

The ifi Xcan is probably gonna top my list of good purchases this year.

Fantastic on power output (upto 1000 mw on Balanced), great build quality especially the analogue domain boasts like: Bass/ Presenence / Bass+Presence and the rather impressive 3D soundstage boost.

The power available ensures that the sound is around 90-95% of a desktop all-in-one like Topping DX3 Pro, with just a teensy perceived less slam and that’s mighty impressive for a pocket size setup. Then it pulls ahead of the DX3Pro with Balanced outs and those added analogue boosts.
Nit-picking: I must say the hyped Bluetooth quality that reviews go on about is good but not great. For instance a Shanling M0 with a lineout on low-gain (its always a low-gain as a preference for me) is way superior to the ess DAC on Xcan on resolution and the xcan sounds warm with Bluetooth.
You sure can still use and be happy with Bluetooth capability when on the move but a wired line-in is the way to enjoy this and to be fair this is just how it was intended and to stack with XDSD if you’re a Burr Brown DAC fan (I’m not).

Also the Bluetooth now is not buggy on reconnections like XDSD.
Overall a killer product and one of the few pocketable portables that can drive almost all cans especially my AKGs K7s with all the verve and vigour needed.
